Really? You are dodging my question, then why don’t Americans vote for vote someone who will make cities walkable. Survey says most American prefer suburbs which is why our cities look like that.

NYC subway and overall transportation is very good if not great but certainly better by far than all other American cities combined because they don’t even exist. But it’s mediocre when compared to some European and Asian cities

First of all you would bring in $2250 after tax with a $30k income, not $1500, you probably pulled that data out of your ass. Then you have to live in a affordable neighborhood, median rent doesn’t matter because half the apartments cost less than the median, then balance out other bills.

Now $30k won’t buy you a home but that’s literally the minimum wage in NYC, a double income in a minimum wage would be almost $60k, as most families are double income this isn’t much of a deal.

I agree. My parents ran a family of 4 with $30k at one point, we were perfectly comfortable as we rented an affordable place and lived below our means as everyone should. I also know people who also grew up with similar incomes and were doing okay. If you don’t have a balanced budget that’s on you, stop blaming others.

First of all prices are set on supply and demand if you didn’t know, and you shouldn’t expect a affordable house in a tiny island called Manhattan where demand is so high and space doesn’t exist. Investments are done in the basis of ROI, I’m sure you, like everyone else don’t work for free and expect profits form your investments like everyone else, it’s all money grab.

To really answer your question, the demand in NYC, specially in Manhattan is Soo high that any new developments are sold out almost immediately. The solution is to heavily upzone rest of the city where population density is only 1/4 of Manhattan because they have a lot of space for new developments
