It's Industrial on the Eastern Side of the tracks and residential along the River. The residential development is still being expanded... How much more do you want?

It's a mixture of Residential, Commercial and Industrial development...so a healthy mix. Bordentown, Burlington, Delanco, Riverside, Cinnamonson have seen a recent boom in Residential investments while South Trenton, Florence, Pennsuaken have seen Industrial investments pour in... Outdated zoning seems to the main reason why the redevelopment growth along the corridor is slower than say in Philly...this also applies to the PATCO.

Reply to comment by Ok_Raisin_8796 in Can a $10 Billion Highway Fix One of New Jersey’s Worst Traffic Jams? by HobokenJ
10 Billion would be enough to fund the following NJT Projects
- Northern Branch LRT
- Newark-Paterson LRT
- Passaic-Bergen-Hudson LRT
- West Orange Extension LRT
- Newark-Elizabeth-Cranford LRT
- West Trenton Line
- MOM Rail Network (Central Jersey)
- PA Rail Access Expansion to Scranton & Lehigh Valley (Split with PA/Fed funding)
- Glassboro LRT
- Bus Rapid Transit ways along South Orange Ave, Central Ave in Newark, JFK Boulevard in Hudson County, Route 4 in Passaic-Bergen
If he were real serious about being green and expanding the infrastructure in the state he would have aggressive funded that list which with matching federal funding should have largely been built by now with the exception of a few long shelved projects. All the shelved road and highway projects under Christie have been funded and most of them will be done by next year. Around 7 billion in total...so why hasn't NJT received the same treatment.

Taking the bus has made me more aware of how prevalent the issue of distracted driving is. It's not a once in the blue moon thing, I can look over, and it seems like every 10 drivers we pass one is on his/her phone streaming or facetiming.

Why not take the express bus? They have their own lane along 495 which allows them to speed past the snarled traffic.

They ripped up perfectly good condition streets and roads in my town in late November just to repave them...creating a traffic nightmare. I don't know what's going on the highway network, it seems like every day there's a new project underway.
Nexis4Jersey t1_j0alewk wrote
If they're pulling out of a bus stop on the side of the road you have to yield to them, it's state law, and it's on the back of every bus. With the lanes being narrow on the older highway/road network, it's hard in some areas to stay in the lanes, but this also applies to car drivers as well.

Probably 2-3 billion, this would require 2 movable bridges, elevated guide way and a tunneled section will stations.

The tracks would have to be replaced in order to operate passenger service over them. The current tracks can support up 80mph in some areas with 60mph bing the highest along most of the route. So to upgrade to 90-110mph wouldn't be that hard to do and add more double track to run more service and to reduce conflicts with freight trains which is possible since most of the ROW used to have 2 tracks with one removed. You can run 3 RTs between Bangor and Boston with an overnight service extending into Canada to Halifax. The current Downeaster service loses money and so does the Interstate highway / road network no one complains about that.

Those are CNJ tracks not RVL , the line used to cross over the Newark Bay and terminate at Liberty State Park. I'm disappointed with the lack of movement on addressing Urban Jersey connectivity and mobility issues.... The roads are back to there pre-pandemic gridlock state and NJT has done nothing to advance the 9 proposed rail projects in the state. Even Amtrak under trump advanced hundreds of small and large projects to the point of being funded and ready to go under Biden... Why hasn't Murphy done that? And why is there a transit gap between Urban Jersey & Staten Island.

It could be cut and cover, which is cheaper and faster to build as it would be closer to the surface.

PA has no issue spending big on projects on either side of the hudson look at the Airport expansions , expansions done at the Ports...and the Freight rail network feeding into them...so I doubt they'll run into opposition over that for a path extension in Hudson County.. Amtrak owns the ROW to EWR and conflicts with some NEC upgrade plans..

The town centers & city stations are like that but other stations have attracted Industrial development which to be fair those areas were always somewhat industrial. The RiverLINE pre-pandemic moved around 13,000 people a day which was largely Industrial warehouse and retail workers, with a small % being Rutgers Students and Commuters to Philly and NEC.
All the Redevelopment / transportation Projects for the RiverLINE Corridor
A bike/walking path along the Delaware River, from Trenton to Camden, connecting all the large parks together in Mercer, Burlington and Camden Counties. Completed sections : Trenton to Bordentown, Bordentown to Roebling via the Crystal Lake Park, Riverside-Rancocoas Creek, Under Construction : Riverton to Riverside
Camden , nothing solid is being proposed also goes for the PATCO stations
The Pennsuaken Transit Center Redevelopment Stalled
Riverton has seen a small apartment complex built across from the station
Cinnaminson - Harbor Medium Density Development built with one more phase remaining
Riverside has seen 2 recently built Apartment complexes near the Downtown with several large redevelopments near the station in the works
Delanco has seen an Apartment complex built and recently completed phased medium density suburban development next to the train station
Beverly has nothing in the works
Burlington South is zoned Industrial, a few more companies have looked into setting up shop near the station
Burlington Town Center has recently seen some redevelopment closer to the waterfront, with 4 more infill developments in the works in the Downtown core.
Florence Park and Ride is zoned Industrial
Roebling, the barren area near the station is too contaminated for a residential development I heard a park is in the works
Fieldsboro station was never built, and the dense development was canned by the town which bought the property and is working with the county last I heard to make it into a park.
Bordentown, nothing is planned
Trenton Stations have nothing planned around them
