It does, but they're also home in the morning when it's darker. The last extension of DST was sold as a way to save on energy. After two years, they learned that it just shifted energy use to the morning and lead to a slight increase.

Schools start early so parents are able to get them there before they get to work. Of course, we could also start work later. That would lead to getting home later which then absorbs any extra daylight due to DST and we're right back where we started.

It seems so backward. We don't need extra evening daylight in July because even without DST it's light until 8:30, but we do in January when it's otherwise dark at 4pm.

The former makes the latter more difficult. Weeding 4 acres of all non-native plants mechanically is physically and temporally demanding, Even spraying is difficult and can be expensive. Unfortunately, natural herbicides are nearly useless. I'm convinced that I could dump 5 gallons of boiling vinegar (don't do that) on multiflora roses and they'd laugh audibly.

If you let some air out of your tires, you can even hit the short ones.

Nicely shot. It doesn't look nearly that dense in person and this pulls all of the interesting signage into frame.
For comparison. Here's a similar viewpoint from Google streetview.

They're anti-gun and presumably they consider this guilt by association. It is silly as flashlights on/for guns help people clearly identify someone and avoid accidental shootings.

There is a lot that REI doesn't carry. If the flashlight manufacturer makes flashlights for guns or other gun-related gear, they won't carry it.

This is the right way to go, but can be a bigger project. Drywall repair is not a big deal, but it can lead to painting the entire room which takes much longer. If he has leftover paint and it was painted in the last decade, it probably doesn't matter.

Quieter evenings, dark nights to enjoy under the stars, less pressure to do more after a day at work of doing more, no need to start your day in the dark. After a summer when it stays light until 9pm, it's a nice break and feels right for the colder weather.

The violent crime problem in Philly is huge. This EO was nonsense. It restricted having a gun in recreation areas, but the people who are shooting people in Philly don't care. Most of them are carrying guns they aren't legally allowed to possess nor do they have a permit to carry it anywhere. This just made what they're doing more illegal without preventing crime. It also restricts the ability of innocent people from being able to defend themselves especially since they're the only people who would obey this.

Real question: Does restricting the rights of law-abiding people reduce crime?

The state shouldn't be operating a business. Legalize it and let the free market provide the product. The only involvement the state should have is in assuring there is recourse in the case of fraud.
