Decided to decorate for Christmas since I'll be out of town tomorrow. Got up all the extraneous stuff and discovered....our tree accidentally got thrown out during spring cleaning 🤦🏼‍♀️ A quick trip to Walmart solved that problem and the apartment is fully Christmas-a-fied.

I was surprised that Walmart was fairly empty when I went. It doesn't feel like people are as gung-ho on Black Friday as they have been (and is that necessarily a bad thing?)

Was supposed to work a half-day today, but the Big Big Bosses surprised us all yesterday and said "nah, we're just going to close the whole day. Enjoy yourselves!"

Tomorrow I'll go out and spend the day with my dad, who starts cancer treatments on Monday. It's not going to be a big holiday feast, just everyone bringing a little something and more about family time than stuffing our faces. It's going to be a different holiday season, that's for sure. I just hope it's not the last one.

So today I went out and bought a small Christmas tree and some trimmings and put it up in the bedroom. Christmas lights just make me feel better.

We were supposed to work a half day tomorrow, and I got to work to be greeted by an email saying "jk, we're closing tomorrow. See everyone Monday!"

Gotta love it!

I'm more down for leftover turkey in the days after than on actual Thanksgiving. Sandwiches and wraps for days!

If you can't find the Ukrops gingerbread men in stores, try their Food Hall off Patterson. They often have things that aren't in the stores!

I'm 99% sure that Westhampton was where my mom snuck my sister & me in to see The Full Monty at an age we had no business seeing it.

I WFH Monday and Friday, so today's commute was about 20 steps. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursdays I leave around 730 to make sure that I'm at the office downtown by 8. I don't start until 815 so I like to leave myself some wiggle room.

Of course, immediately after I look like an idiot on reddit 😂 thanks friend!

Today I learned this place is actually still open. Every time I pass it on my way home it seems just as shut down as it looks in the morning

Husband and I have been twice, haven't had a bad meal or experience there yet!

The name escapes me at the moment, but there's a mushroom booth at South of the James most Sundays. They sell growing kits as well!

Tonight, doing our weekly dinner meetup with friends.

Doing the Bubble Run up at Meadow Event Park tomorrow with my sister and her kids (well, it'll be more like a bubble WALK for us, but still fun).

A relatively relaxing weekend after a jammed week!

Monday night we'll put a bowl of candy out for the kiddos in the complex to help themselves.

The first year we lived here, we forgot to get anything and had to hide from the knocks all night

Next year was 2020....nuff said.

Last year I got candy, only one kid knocked.

Hopefully this will work!

I can also vouch for Wellbutrin. Still have bad days sometimes (doesn't everyone though) but even my worst days are easier to deal with now. If that makes sense!

Grateful for work from home because I started having back spasms last night. Not quite so bad this morning, but today will be spent in the recliner with the aleve close by.

My FIL got let go last week after 17 years with the company. He's had a few interviews (and one today, fingers crossed!) and each one has told him he's "over-qualified."
