Without context, the stars must have aligned. I wish it went that well here.

When? Rents have more than doubled in my rural town in the last 3 years, and substitutes haven't had any increase in pay.

The starting salaries are so low it's not funny. Teachers can't afford to rent an apartment virtually anywhere in the state.
EDIT: Salaries are public information, available here. A few short years ago, these may have been acceptable, but now they have fallen very far behind.

It's really fucked up that people aren't masking anymore. We have a significant portion of our society that are unable to safely leave their homes due to risk of COVID infection still.

Draconian, adjective, excessively harsh and severe.
New York would be one of the least draconian states in the country. The amount of social services provided over other states is amazing. Nowhere near where we need to be as a society, but still better than almost anywhere else.
A draconian state, would be a state like Florida, Texas, Tennessee, or any state where they're currently trying to make it illegal to be a trans person. Just as one example.

Republicans "Let's make it so trans people can't live"
No amount of "good" makes up for that.

Ok, so yes. But thats because most can't afford "good" care, and end up in the cheapest place with a bed and a roommate.

How do you know? Stock up on drinks when they are cheap, get caffeine so they can work the 3 jobs that aren't covering the bills.
You have no idea what you are talking about, what they are experiencing. Dont ASSume anything.

People really underestimate how expensive late-in-life healthcare is. My grandmother was fairly well off, not rich, but they did well. Her healthcare is going to eat all of her assets, leaving nothing left, she has pretty much exhausted her Medicare, and now they start taking from her assets before she gets more. She could live another decade, but it's not going to be a pleasant existence, I wish I had a way to help.
3M (in today's dollars) is honestly about the minimum, because you will likely reach a point where you will need to spend tens, possibly hundreds of thousands a month in healthcare.

People are going to die. One of my besties is trying to feed her family of 6 on $200 a month, it's all they can get because of her disability, and her disability isn't even covering her bills.

Oh there is a simple solution.
Give everyone a snap card for the amount needed to feed everyone in the family. Then tax the rich to cover it.

Didn't they add a new wing awhile back? I could have sworn it was new when I visited a friend a few years ago.

I have really found memories of fishing at the Little Pine spillway. We would go camping, catch fish, and have dinner. It's probably been 15+ years since I've been up there.

The "Sunshine Protection Act" never got picked up by the house. So it didn't happen.
Several states are working on it, but I don't believe PA is, and I sadly don't see that changing yet.

You misunderstand me. It's not legitimate because they are fascist, and are promoting genocide currently. It's not because I don't like them. I don't though, I don't like people who promote genocide.

Quakers right? I know the majority still believe in a mostly Christian way, but I was under the impression that it was almost more culture than religion, but I'm not well versed on the topic.

I really struggle with this. Should parents be allowed to opt out of basic education, so much abuse and trauma could be avoided if they weren't. I really don't know or have an answer, but as cliche as it is, it keeps me up at night.

Hi, Have children. I want them to be educated on all of this. Goddess knows I wouldn't have made the mistakes I had if I had better sex education.

As it stands, with several limitations, kids in New York state get full tuition covered by the state, up to 125k. Hell, most adults can take advantage of it too.
That alone covers the increased taxes for most individuals.
