It's above average for sushi in Providence but priced above it's station. Service and drinks are good though

I agree, but this is a RI sub and we won't get much love for those opinions here. Newport however has some 8/10 sushi.

A step above stop and shop. Only visit if you only eat California rolls

There really isn't a great sushi place in Providence. Somo is good, Sakura is decent. Ichiban is above average. I'd say Sushi Mori in Newport is the best in in the state. But coming up in the west coast, their really isn't GREAT sushi in RI.

The violence has always been around. GoLocal has figured out a way to monetize it. And some people eat that shit up

We are all tired of GoLocal links because thay are capitalizing on outrage for clicks without any suggestions for change. Easy to be outrageous, very hard to be patient and progressive

Well, if you don't want to or can't drive to the bank or a grocery store, it's not a good neighborhood for people without a car or who reply on public transport. Such a boomer thing to say, I guess.

Amen 🙏. The hardest thing about living here is the lack of a good grocery store, all the best restaurants barely speak English, and too few banks.

It's way cheaper. My beautiful mill building apartment was way less than any comparable place

If you aren't looking for trouble you won't find it in most neighborhoods, good or bad. Now if you are looking for drugs or sex, that is a different story. Definitely good people in the valley.

Looks great! I will make a point to go. But I don't really think people living in the valley consider that bourgeois section to be the valley. Not really reflective of the neighborhood when you drop into the winter farmers market

It's safe. My biggest complaints are that it's kinda dirty and the lack of grocery stores and coffee shops. Tacos are good though

The store bought ones are mostly bread. I learned the Portuguese sausage trick from a tavern down in Newport. I can't even eat them without sausage now. Steam the clams. Cook the sausage, sweat some minced onions, red pepper and celery if you like. Split the clam shells and chop up the clams. Mix it all together with some fresh chopped parsley, paprika and bread crumbs. Add either the steaming water or clam juice to wet the ingredients. Stuff the shells and bake in the oven until brown. You can toast them under the broiler for a bit if you are feeling fancy. I think the difference between chorizo and chaurico, is that chaurico is smoked.

They are so easy to make though. I like to put chaurico in mine. Portuguese sausages might be tough to find but chorizo might be a tasty substitute. So much better than the premade ones

Keep fishing. The law and order argument didn't fly on November 8th and it won't get any traction with me. The homicide rate is well below the national average in Rhode Island. 32 in 2020, and in 2022, 19 so far in the state year to date, but no one talks about the other 11, only the 8 in Providence. And golocalprov sure makes it seem like everything is going to hell in a hand basket in PVD if they provide no context for their articles. Most just move along and say, yep I knew that already. Also, I'm done. I'm out.

Shit. I bought a whole pound of fresh caught sea scallops in NB at a fish market and ate them raw on my way home. Does that count as sushi, because that has been the best I've had in New England
