I dont think going over the social security cap means that you also no longer have to pay the state medical leave premium. It does make your net higher, so when they figure the percentage for the medical leave premium, it will be a larger amount than you paid previous. I doubt they are going to see it as you paid too much.

Cut out about half of that or all you'll be doing is driving. That isn't really time enough to do anything. You need time to stop for walking trails (not everything is visible from the highway) and to eat. Crater Lake specifically may already be closed for the winter by October, it's a very short tourist season there.

What direction are you coming from? Tri-Cities is about an hour and a half west. Clarkston about the same distance east. Other little towns closer but I dont think they have hotels.

The people who ride bikes in Tri-Cities are crazy people. Very few do I ever see driving responsibly. Usually driving 20-30 miles over the limit and are going so fast you can't hear them until they are passing you. Not sure they will care about any laws, they don't care about them now.
