I think that there's this weird perception in this sub that everyone in Boston has old money, high-paying jobs, and is just resting on their laurels...

From when I moved here to where I am at now in life is vastly different, but the years living with roommates were great -- I'm still friends with them. When I was broke I couldn't go out to the bars every night I wanted to, but there was always a house party or gathering somewhere... I learned to cook more at home, and generally become more independent and resourceful.

It may not be the case for you, but when I see a lot of these posts I kind of see people that only see the things they don't have... which seems depressing.

This was a good thread on the area from not long ago.

We've lived very close to the T station for over five years and really like the area. We feel safe and enjoy the restaurants, cafes, and access to downtown. Lower Mills and Adams Corner are accessible fun spots too.

The only difference is Ashmont Grill has closed.

For everyone reading this, if that bridge is deprecated and cars reroute from Morrissey, our worst traffic in the world will multiply from the south shore.

I guess having it as a drawbridge is unique to support the club, but I wonder what the savings are for non-drawbridge and financial compensation and relocation and build costs for the club?

It's an agreed through way so you can't really walk that back.

I know. But now you know. Go try that battery acid. So flavorful 🤮

DBC has come a really long way. They had some awesome contract brews you could get and their beers were kind of "meh."

Matt put a lot of time and effort into that place and feel like they may be a good business model for aspiring breweries. Get the space to brew for others, get a few for yourselves, and scale into your own brewery as you can.
