Countries where the citizens are well-educated and healthy have less crime, and with greater technology (including medicine), people are going to become smarter and healthier than ever before, so while I'll probably get criticized for saying something so utopian, I'll say it anyway:

I think that the singularity will lead to all crime ending this century, within a few decades, and obviously, the sooner that all crime ends, the better it will be for everyone and everything.

The nanofactory will be capable of rearranging atoms in any way permitted by the laws of physics, and all that's required to run the machine will be air, dirt, and water, so the moment the nanofactory is created, post-scarcity emerges.

You might think that such powerful technology will only be available to the rich, but every nanofactory will be able to created another nanofactory, ad infinitum, meaning that there will be no way for corporations to stop everyone from having their own nanofactory.

I think most jobs (including office jobs) will be automated in the 2020's and all jobs will be automated in the 2030's. Universal basic income has to be implemented to support people until nanofactories are created (at which point, people will be able to completely support themselves).

Great. Open source is always the way to go. The so-called "abuse" of AI-related applications that journalists fearmonger about is already possible with existing technology and rarely if ever happens because most people are decent and focus on non-harmful uses. Also, these AI-related applications are fiction, often times animated, so be skeptical of doomsday predictions.

That's not to say ignore the potential downsides, of course it's good to make technology as safe as possible, but preventing the general public from accessing creative tools doesn't help anyone and the reason it happens at all is for corporations to financially benefit, but I don't care about corporations, I care about people and open source models give power to the people.

I respect the ambition, but there's no point in guessing what'll happen post-singularity, because it's literally impossible to know anything that's qualitatively different with our current neocortex.
