Yes. I have a special garbage site on my phone. It’s an iPhone. I always had Androids prior. The iPhone has a ‘do not track’ option I deploy. I’m not certain if that’s what makes the site so bad. weather.com. Every time I reenter it’s locked. I have to swipe it away and reenter presumably so it can load ads. If I want to click on the radar it displays an ad before I can see the radar. I recall from years ago on my laptop that all of the content on the site was garbage clickbait. Just like their television station that became all junk content long before that. They’d have to pay me to tune in.

She bought the policy with a lump sum of about $100,000. I think it paid about $1,700 a month.

Not to be trusted. They tried to scam my son into getting a new furnace when he definitely did not need one. When I was doing energy audits 7-12 years ago a few people told me AJ Perri said they needed new HVAC systems. They didn’t.

It’s not. The insurance paid a portion of the cost. The rest came from pensions, Social Security and other assets she had accumulated.

Not Medicare. She had a Long Term Care policy. In about five years they siphoned off almost all of her assets, $650K. She was going to have to go on Medicaid in a couple of months but she got sick and passed away.

Inflation, eh. It’s not like the Port Authority needs to come up with an excuse to increase the the gravy train it already is. Imagine being fortunate enough to be politically connected to that corrupt cash cow to get employed there.

25 years for me, too. Bad timing because it occurred as the country was about to enter the Bush crash in 2007. The weasels did their cuts in relatively small batches to avoid scrutiny. They had downsizing people sneaking around but we knew who they were. In a way it was comical. Not Office Space Bobs-like, those two doofuses were out in the open. I never recovered financially but I’m OK. I fear for my kids generation and especially my two young grandchildren. I believe there will be relatively many less people living comfortably. Every time I see the chart showing the transfer of wealth upward from about 1980 until now I am reminded of the drastic difference in compensation compared with the cost of everything, but especially housing. I just saw a headline today about one of the big Wall Street firms planning to buy 1 billion of housing. Their greed is unbounded.

I never once had an average performance appraisal, let alone a low one. I was, however, axed by the almighty shareholders. In a large group meeting several months earlier when I asked the ‘downsizing’ executive if she could guarantee that I would not lose my job she said yes in response. It has nothing to do with performance. It has everything to do with eliminating older, more highly compensated employees to reduce expenses and satisfy those aforementioned insatiable, greedy fucking shareholders.

This, too. School system administrations are bloated putting aside the redundancy.

First place to start: police and multiple pensioners.

It took an international study to conclude the obvious? Next they should do a study to conclude that the vast majority of the polarization and populism is fueled by right-wing media outlets and fascist/authoritarian propaganda mills.

The many racists in the GOP were livid we had a black president. Four years later they elected a racist moron to the presidency. Six years after that they’re likely to vote in a fascist majority in Congress. Two years after that they’re likely to end our democracy permanently.

Excellent. Citizens of this state should be encouraged to vote. It should be easy as possible with many options. It should not be restricted to only people who are certain to vote for one party. That is happening in many states where fascists are attempting to cement permanent power. This is especially true because their excuse is voter fraud which is virtually nonexistent. The rare exceptions in this century have been committed almost exclusively by their voters.
