I mean don’t we all?

But for practical purposes I’ll settle for the equivalent of what they’ve done with the Apple Watch Ultra, to start.

Enough to make through to the second night before charging and a solid three days on low power mode.

Actually I mainly charge my ultra while I’m in the shower and if I kept it on low power, (edit:) and kept the iPhone within Bluetooth range, I’m pretty sure I’d never have to take it off to charge otherwise. Battery life boost has been great.

Edit: I might actually have to try that experiment for a few days.

Nah. Dust inside the camera assembly with no other apparent structural damage is clearly manufacturer defect. In practicality, Apple sells on both volume and price point so they’ll likely just eat the cost as a surprise and delight unless it’s just blatantly obvious. And you didn’t actually do anything.

Just go in and tell them what’s up. “hey, I’ve had this phone a minute. Always been careful and it lives on its case. But I think I have dust inside the camera. This should be covered under warranty?” Bring your receipt or proof of purchase of you have it just in case, but this shouldn’t prove a hassle.

What they say online for delivery does not 1:1 reflect stock at any given store. It’s worth a shot to check in person if you live close enough to an Apple Store. I’ve had success for myself (walk-in purchase of a 5S in late September) and on behalf of my mom (warranty replacement on the spot) before.

It’s because starting of with “hypothetically” sometimes gives off those “asking for a friend vibes” or “I’m about to try something shady.” Not saying you are, but I got those vibes for a hot second too.

Edit: It’s like if you have dust under the camera glass and you didn’t actually do anything wrong, why is this “hypothetical.” Lol

Anyway, hope you can get your phone straightened out!

Following the preceding comments and assuming you’re not trying to be shady about something (you’re coming across kinda cagey for simple “hypothetical) it sounds like you have a manufacturing defect.

If you’re the owner of the iPhone and it’s been purchased legit new, hence your within 60 days, then it seems you have a manufacturing defect. Take it in for a repair to Apple or any authorized place. They should reseal everything but I agree you should specifically state you want everything resealed, as it was an issue with dust ingress in the first place.

If you’re able to take it to a physical Apple Store, they’ll likely just hand you a new iPhone of the same series, size, color and capacity — if they have them in stock.

Reply to Weird iOS bug by Paranomac

I was sitting here (looking at your user flair) for a hot second trying to figure out how in the hell you have a functioning iPhone 3G in 2022. Lol. and this was after I wondered “huh, what widget is that?”

Lmao. It’s early for me.

But yeah, “Landscape Status Bar in Portrait Orientation” bug. Haven’t seen that for a minute. If you haven’t tried it yet, turn portrait lock on and off, rotate the device back and forth, and/or do a restart. Should clear up.

You can have nurses scrub in and assist directly with the surgery as the other redditor said.

Also some hospitals will employ surgical technologist “scrub techs” who help the surgeons manage instrumentation and sterile equipment but these techs will not be nurses themselves. The nurses in these cases will just be circulators who document and grab extra supplies and generally keep the room running smoothly.

At my hospital we have several nurses who were originally surg techs and have kept up their credentials. They’ll sub in when needed but we typically have separate scrub techs and circulator nurses.

The poor dude running the fluoroscopy might have to stay there the whole time. Source: I’m that dude. My personal record is about 9 hours, although I took a couple quick pee breaks. (Busy day so no longer term relief available.)

I’ve also seen a few cases where a partner comes in to relive the attending on particularly long spine cases. I’ve seen a couple 10-12 hour cases. I don’t have personal experience with those legendary 16-24+ hour traumas though.

On a side note, I heard a hypothesis recently that the rise in peanut allergies specifically might be related to a — I forget the name at the moment — known allergen plant with which peanuts are recommended for crop rotation. A sort of cross contamination.

I need to do some searching on that.

Me neither until they gave me the Amazon gift cards! ☺️

Every % counts! :) Plus I like to avoid revolving balances where possible. Or at least minimize them to specific cards. I don’t want charges piling up on that Chase-backed Amazon card while I’m not paying attention. And having all Apple-related charges on my Apple Card soothes my low key OCD.

I was unaware! That’s good to know.

> but I also don’t know why you would plan to do this if you know you want apple care

Two scenarios I can imagine.

The iPhone was a gift and you didn’t come with AppleCare+. Some might not realize it’s a thing. And there might be a legal requirement that they allow it before the limited warranty expires / why turn down money?

Or you buy the device through a third party reseller like Amazon, but want your AppleCare billed and tracked through Apple.

That’s me. Bought an Watch Ultra on Amazon, because gift cards. But I think I’d like to cancel the Apple Care+ tied to my Amazon card and have it billed to my Apple Card instead. I need to contact Support and verify that’s okay. It hasn’t shipped just yet so the AppleCare isn’t active.

> the plan starts from date of device purchase

Or shipping date, whichever is first
