AIs have already developed their own languages to communicate with each other that humans don't understand and have been shut off as a result. This was several years ago.
AIs are going to discover things and humans are going to have no ability to understand how they did it. The literal Black Box.

I think you will see this technology by the end of the decade. Not for personal use but, movie studios are going to snap this up as soon as it is available. Animation first but, then live action. Everyone that works in Hollywood will be at risk.

The laws of physics are the only upper limit. Also, the amount of energy required may mean that things that are theoretically possible could not be done because of the energy requirements.

A lot of Walgreens are open on Christmas. Chinese Food, Dunkin Donuts. I once ate a diner on Christmas in the Bristol/Plainville area. Sorry I don't remember the name.

Some people just can't computer program. They don't have the mind for it. They aren't logical and it is too much of an abstraction for them. More might be needed but, companies are more likely to brain drain the rest of the world for talent than try to train locals without an aptitude.

There is already plenty of robotic farm equipment with more in rapid development. In door hydroponic farming will make it that much easier.

Certainly eventually. I don't think AI is going to roll out quiet as quickly as the more optimistic on this sub feel it will.
Navigating to a home or business, navigating the home or business itself, making repairs in a unique situation is going to require a great deal of intelligence and flexible robotics. Maybe by the end of the century. That gives young people at least 80 years to pursue these careers. Plenty of time for the current working age population and probably the next to successfully pursue these professions without much fear of competition from robots. After 2100 all bets are off.

I don't know if you could completely replace the CEO. AI could be a powerful tool for a CEO an AGI Consigliere, if you will.
The idea of an AI CEO was explored over sixty years ago in the Twilight Zone episode The Brian Center at Whipples.

Big mistake. AI created comics may save the comic book industry, which is currently in trouble. It will of course cost many artists and inkers their jobs but, spur writers to new heights of creativity.

I was thinking about this the other day.
For example, Flemming discovered Penicillin in the 1920s. It took until the 1940s and a massive government investment to make it a mass-produced product because of the war effort.
Even if AGI was discovered tomorrow, it could take 10 plus years for AGI to have a meaningful impact on society.

Next century for a practical application. They may exist this century but, be very slow and limited. I imagine they will require vast amounts of energy. Unless we crack fusion that isn't going to happen.

Well, I think you can have mouse level AGI and cat level AGI and dog level AGI and chimp level AGI.
All these will take some human jobs but none of them is going to take over the world.
