You could do some sick F1 22 gaming with this setup, your desk setup is really nice

You can try and calibrate those to a common standard, and see how they fare after that. Color calibration isn't just for photo and video producers, it makes the monitors much more enjoyable to use day to day

This isn't really true of Humans as is the individuals, but ideally Humans as the brain of brains, the entity composed of the people that has it's own volition. And that I don't think we can fundamentally change in any meaningful way.

I tried the Foobar's integrated crossed, really didn't do it for me. It doesn't really do the "speaker" thing and it just reduces soundstage, with weird artefacts in the center of the audio sphere.

I really didn't like the Oratory preset with the 800S, but yeah these are way good enough for me to call them endgame. I'll stick with it until I can try out a Final D8000/newest Yamaha and maybe they'll take the throne

Tbh the only good Crin collabs are the Dawn and the CRN tuning-wise, but the CRN isn't unnatural as fuck

I had Panasonic RP_HZ47 that were kickass, but it was 11 years ago. Can't tell you shit about the sound signature, but I remember they were great for electric guitars

I've had the same experience with my 800S, I've never liked Oratory profiles but an 800/800S with EQ is my personal endgame, I listened to stuff twice as expensive and it just wasn't as good.
The mid-range really is what grabbed me, the day I demoed them I tried a good dozen headphones and the 800S just stood out with how natural the timbre was.

Lift them up while taking them off, I've learned to deal with it as well

Yes you can take the stickers out, it's a common mod and it changes the sound significantly.

I have a HD800S so I'll say that yes, it's worth it, but I'm biased.
First rule for any hobby : if you don't have that amount to spare or if you depend on it for living, don't spend it. These things come well after the rest.
And tbh if the rest of your chain isn't already good or great then the HD800S will feel like a wasted jewel among trash, it reveals all the flaws in your system

Simple advice for anyone here : if the music is louder than your normal speaking voice, it's too loud.
If you have closed backs that seriously attenuate sounds, then instead of your voice lightly snap your fingers and adjust the volume of your music to that.

I use my EQ software for balancing out the L/R canals. The sound option in your computer's system preferences should include a L/R slider to adjust the balance

Honestly wait until you can buy an Appolo, an Orion or similar, the products in between aren't really worth it. If you want to go a more audiophile route, an A90D/D90LE stack would be the step up. I'm a really big advocate of saving up for a long time and aiming for long term products, so bear that in mind

The amp part is not the worst about the SSL, the DAC is quite lacklustre imo but you're better off using it for a while and enjoying for what it is, an entry level interface, and saving up for sth better later. It's already quite competent and side grading to other entry level products won't make a huge difference.

My advice would be to save up and buy mid-tier/hi end products once you're financially stable. The SSL will be slightly better than the Focusrites, Presonus and Tascams out there, of course lesser than the Orions and Apogees but it's perfectly viable on its own. Don't let yourself fall into the constant side grading hell that is the entry level/cheap-fi

It's quite a different experience, both have extremely wide soundstage but the IEMs are closed backs and the bass is very immediate, it feels very nice but the upper mids are quite upfront and prone to irritating the ears.
The HD800S is like unlocking 4k but for audio

I alternate between Final A4000 IEMs and my HD800S for FPS gaming, they feel different but I'm not better with the IEMs.

I did the exact thing you want to do with my Final A4000 in Paris, the shop staff was very nice and let me try anything and everything. I made a post about it in r/headphones and it was a very informative experience. The skateboard really shouldn't be an issue, if you have a backpack you can clip it to vertically you'll have a much easier time.
I recommend you go by feel and try the brands you like first, it establishes a "baseline"/horizon of expectations that can be validated or shattered by other experiences afterwards

Music reaches far beyond the rationale of the human mind, hence it's predominance in all cultures around the globe. We justify investing in music enjoyment because it's so effective on our mood, our productivity, our happiness. Plus we're in a consumerist ultra capitalist society so that helps a lot

The membrane will only vibrate at the speed of the signal it is given, so a Planar will replay 1000Hz the same way a dynamic Wil lvibrate 1000Hz. They both play the same source. What we can observe here are the decay, reflections, resonances involved with the headphon'es design (closed back, ported back, good seal/sound leak from the pads, etc) and this affects the sound signature significantly.
