"On average, Philadelphia police are called to about 36 stolen vehicles every day, which is almost twice as many from about four years ago."

"Data uncovered by CBS Philadelphia shows more than 12,700 stolen vehicles were reported to police in Philadelphia so far this year. Those numbers are nearly twice as many stolen vehicles during the same time period in 2019."

>many people consider Taylor’s death to be a murder

Semantics? Murder is a legal term with a very specific meaning. Just because "many people consider' something doesn't make it true. In fact, calling someone a murderer when they have not been convicted of it opens you up to charges of defamation.

It's the reason Kyle Rittenhouse will be a multi-millionaire soon.

The Bucks County Beacon should know better. That's my point.

Also from the article...

"The inspiration for the proactive approach to address prejudice and bigotry was brought to life...following the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor in 2020.'

Was Breonna Taylor ruled a murder?

from the NYT, two days ago:

"No officer has ever been charged with shooting Ms. Taylor"

https://www.nytimes.com/article/breonna-taylor-police.html

How does this make it past a proofreader?

"Alexander and another man called for a locksmith to assist them with a vehicle on the 2000 block of Alter Street in the Point Breeze section of Philadelphia. When the locksmith arrived, Alexander and the other man allegedly struck the locksmith with a firearm and stole his work van which contained vehicle key fobs and vehicle key fob programming tools."

Alter Street is 1/2 block below Washington Ave, by Dock Street Brewery South.

"Krasner had represented one of two defendants in a capital homicide case Vega prosecuted, which went to a three-week trial in 2016 after several years of ongoing litigation. The jury returned a guilty verdict. However, the verdict did not result in a death sentence."

"During those proceedings, Krasner alleged, Vega tampered with witnesses, lied to the judge, and sexually harassed a paralegal."

"Several months after that trial ended, Krasner announced his candidacy for district attorney."

"During cross-examination, Gold asked why Krasner had not mentioned the alleged misconduct when he responded in a verified statement to Vega’s age discrimination complaint to the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission."

"In that statement, Krasner claimed he fired Vega after a “30-year job interview,” referring to Krasner’s observation of Philadelphia prosecutors in the time he worked as a defense attorney."
