How far inland? Central Maine and well, there's something out there right now but I'd be hard pressed to call it snow

It's also been windy as hell. Wind will suck the heat right out of a house unless it's seal up tight, which you really do not want in our climate. The house has to breath. It's a catch-22.

Reply to comment by odd_1nt3g3r5 in TIL Snow is an excellent insulator because it consists of about 90–95 percent trapped air (fresh). This is the reason why igloos are warmer inside than outside, and why some animals in colder regions build snow caves to spend the winter while hibernating. by SunCloud-777
Quinzees are amazing shelters and I do believe what most people mistaken think of when they hear 'igloo'. Igloos require specific snow and conditions to be able to build. Quinzees just require snow, preferably dense snow so it sticks together.
Just gotta be careful when building them. The whole idea is to have a shelter to protect against hypothermia, but if you work so hard you begin to sweat, you kinda defeat the purpose. Either requires a change of clothes or just take your time making one.

You let me store them at your place for the ten months out of the year I don't need em and maybe we can talk about it.
Or I can continue being a careful driver with all seasons in the snow and watch the people who think snow tires gives them the ability to travel 70 mph in blizzard conditions fishtail off into a ditch.

And this explains why it will fail, sadly. A good chunk of Maine is of the "fuck the future, I care about today" mindset.

It takes nothing to get a work permit. It takes even less to turn away a very underaged person who is required to have a work permit.
This could all be avoided and be a non issue if people just followed the damned laws.

The problem is you are mistaking belief for truth.
I can believe in magic fairy lands all I want, doesn't make them true.
The truth is we have a pretty good idea on how life began, and evolution explains how we got to where we are now. But we will never definitively prove it.
But it's certainly a much better explanation than 'magic invisible floaty man made everything.'

We have a fairly good idea how the first organisms emerged, and it doesn't have anything to do with a magic invisible floaty man.
