The homeless are "the homeless", they are not represented by a dozen yucksters that took over a central park for way to many weeks.

If I drove a truck over to McPherson SQ and started building a cabin there I would have been kicked out the same day. This isn't the issue of "the homeless" this is the obvious conclusion to a nothing story about some guys that decided no one else was going to be able to use the park.

They aren't living on "public land" this isn't fucking Montana. They built a shanty town in a park 2 blocks from the White House. Everyone in that park knew this would happen and they laughed and saw how long they could play it out.

We aren't going to let McPherson SQ be a shanty town because a dozen people put their tents up.

"Without electricity or water" bullshit.. they are sleeping a few hundred yards from the president of the United States of America. Stop it.

This is totally do-able. Hell now I want a job like that. I'd love to be in NYC 4x a month.. First, I think a very early bus is your best bet, and I would try to find one closer. I think one leaves out of Roslyn. The train is amazing, but the prices can be prohibitive if you aren't scheduled well in advance.

Again though, it's going to be easier for you to leave from King St. than Union Station. It's an easy bike ride even.

This is good advice. I would add Orlando is a nightmare to me and some people would have more fun staying in St Augustine, or even Savannah. Since you will be spending good time in a rental, splurge for a van or large SUV. I would fly into Tampa or Jacksonville if it saved me $500 on tickets and/or car rental.

After the launch, drive that badboy down to key west and experience one of the greatest American road trips. Your family will never forget it.

I'm pretty sure AI could have paraphrased all the shit takes and wrote a better argument than this piece.

We aren't coming back. Hell, half my staff don't even live here anymore. They're gone now. We caught covid TWICE this year, so no, I don't want to get on a cattle car every morning again so I can go work for people that in March 2020 called an *in person* meeting to tell us 3 people had covid and we were beginning indefinite telework. Nope. Get fucked.

I already had a liberal telework schedule and my wife was full remote already in 2019. This was coming whether or not the soulless real estate cartel, the boomer boss, or the mayor can believe it. We were going to get here in the next decade. Covid only accelerated the inevitable.

If my boss looked at me with a straight face and said I was returning to the office so I could sit in an empty room and attend video meetings, I would quit. No one else is qualified to sit at my desk. We're currently short at least 6 people. Checkmate.

Just be aware they have majorly limited hours for drop-in fun and play. I've been there a dozen times and never saw the play area open, the guizers on, or the slide operational.

I think it's a fine area. I liked spending time there.

I could ride my bike anywhere in 30 minutes from there.

The crowd was younger. There wasn't anything great about it either. That Walmart is nightmarish and I avoid it anyway I can.
