Yeah, lots of dead deer along that route from my time making the trips from NC to NH back in the day. The only time I'd do I-95 was if I could leave Camp Lejeune in the evening, and drive all through the night.

No traffic once you passed through the DC-NYC megalopolis.

If you're not in a rush, taking I-91 south through Vermont lets you get off at numerous exits to drive parallel down Route 5. It a much nicer drive through the small towns, and once you get your fill you can usually hop right back on the interstate.

I've done a bunch of Atlantic to Pacific drives, and I-90 through was fairly empty but there were some interesting stops for historical sites, but I-10 through New Mexico is bleak.

I have low-cut, thin merino socks for the summer, but most wear sandals. In the winter I have a bunch of thicker calf-height merino socks for winter boots or sneakers, and dedicated over-the-calf socks for skiing.

My brands are whatever merino is the cheapest at the time on Steep and Cheap, EMS, or whatever. I have Darn Tough, Fitsok, Icebreaker, Smartwool. Probably 20 pairs in total from the last 20 years.

The EMS socks have lasted the longest, Smartwool the shortest.

You can carry in NH, VT, ME.

If you have to go to MA or NY just leave it at home.

The money for Ukraine isn't coming from anywhere else other than the previously approved budget for military/aid type of stuff. You can't just reappropriate it to domestic issues.

Blame your state and local elected officials, and the people in D.C. who blow smoke up your ass when they say they care about you.

We had too many grapes to use, so half went into work so other people could have them. A friend made jam and gummies.

The vines at our house were there before we moved in. We haven't been doing any sort of maintenance except moving them out of the way. They've been growing along the back of our deck.
