A Rutland sheriff forced me to Proctor Citizens โ€” the closest ATM to where he pulled me over โ€” to give him 200.00 cash, the most I could pull out at that time, under threat of "going to lose the car for a long time."

So, I find it very hard to believe an agency that employs people with this caliber of ethics, professionalism and integrity could find themselves in an early morning, alcohol fueled shootout.

It's fake news or Saratoga PD provoked him. ๐Ÿคกโ˜๏ธ

This is insane. How can this happen? They cannot understand, people really, really just don't like them.

It's a child's way of thinking. "All Dems bad, all Dems cheat"

Even at the federal level where you hear a Lindsey Graham admitting they can't win on policy, or "if 18 yr olds vote, we'll never win another election," they are admitting they have to cheat to win, and then justify it. But yeah, all Dems are cheaters? The toxic remnants of these fraudits, are, they are now considered normal. If young people continue the trend they started this election, we can neuter them in 2024.

After pulling me for not having my lights on at dusk (it wasn't dusk) I had a Rutland sheriff invent an issue with my registration, so he called a "friend" to put the car on a flatbed, and they drove me to the Citizens in proctor to get my cash limit, under the threat of "lose your car for a very long time." These people are garbage. It's not 1550 anymore. They are totally not needed. I guarantee the guy getting kicked is less of a criminal than this sheriff.

My driver was a great individual! I really liked working with him. And work I did ... Oooof, I've never had a more physically demanding job. I started UPS busy season a week after I got there, so it was a great way to learn the Rutland area where I lived. He gave me home made syrup and some other Vermont stuff when it was over. Oh yeah, I got bitten by a dog, too ๐Ÿ˜ญ Good times!

When we got to Vermont, the first job I got just until I could get a permanent job, was as a helper on a UPS truck. The driver would get a note on his computer that would say, "Open garage door and leave package on the table." Coming from where I did, it was incomprehensible that someone would actually leave their house unlocked and tell someone to come in. I was hesitant about it but my driver assured me that's just the way it is.

This thread should be pinned at the top of the r/ movingtovermont forum. Perfect example of the real Vermont. The only other areas that require a purity test to enter are Johnson City TN or those other few areas where they film Deliverance and Wrong Turn type movies. Because once you get there, pay taxes, support the local economy, this friendliness never goes away. You will hear "flatlander" regularly and have local people ignore you at community events. I still love Vermont, but there is enough gatekeeper presence to make that hard to do sometimes.

There is a lobby that pays to keep this and no right-to-repair laws in place. It's just another way someone has found to extort money for an industry. I never got my car inspected in Vermont. Where I worked, one guy would come to work on a pickup with no headlights and โ€” I kid you not โ€” no windshield. If you don't draw attention to yourself, it's not likely you are going to get caught.

I turned down a service writer job in a Rutland dealership due to the pay scheme. You were expected to get a certain amount of money for every car that came in. That is what your paycheck depended on. So if you didn't sell unnecessary services, you didn't pay rent. Nice system.
