I’ve only got a couple this year but I’ not in the Hayes/Logan battle zone

I got one from an org that wants to help me find my polling location. I know my location but almost wanted to text back yes to see if they sent me to the wrong one

Also got a whacked right wing parents rights/ school text with video about sex education from Passct dot org

I have really good strong doors, but I watched a bunch of YouTube videos one day about how to bear proof your home or cabin and saw some where bears just ripped through exterior walls, lol. I am now paranoid about every weak spot of the property. I also close windows in the kitchen when I am cooking.

I am being a bit of a wreck over worrying it but whatever helps you sleep at night

Weak spots on doors are usually the door jams. If they can lean or pick at the frame of the door and it’s weak, they can get in

Sharing this atlas in case anyone is unaware of it.

The articles are interesting but be sure to click through to the atlas itself. It’s interactive and loaded with information about each town’s zoning. It wasn’t possible to find this in one place before this atlas was created and it’s incredibly useful, especially if you are planning to buy a house or land or build or want to convert a barn to a guest house etc

https://www.zoningatlas.org/connecticut

One interesting fact from the articles, something I didn’t know: over 80-percent of residential land in CT has minimum lot size of an acre. That seems super high to me as almost every town has denser areas of 1/4 acre, and so many subdivisions too. Still not sure I really even believe it but that’s what it says.

I agree. I think they are suing the software company, not the landlords. It certainly isn’t an old fashioned kind of price fixing, more new territory thanks to gobs of data and AI. But there were also meetings with some of the largest owners/landlords who probably understood their data was in the mix and on some level shared. Of course they all research each other’s prices anyway. Will be interested to see where this goes. I think renters are being exploited definitely, treated extremely poorly
