again the actions of a few states should not bar a US city from being able to host the event especially one of the most LGBT friendly cities in the country.

unrelated to this event. The US should not be denied the right to host it because of the actions of a few states. DC was the runner up and got it because Kaohsiung declined after being awarded the honor due to disagreements.

Link is in Slovenian but a poll from 2015 showed 59 percent support for same sex marriage and 39 percent support for same sex adoption

It’s not that right wing. They nearly won an outright majority in parliament which has never happened since independence and if current polling is any indiction they could achieve it in the next one several years from now.
