You should visit the Museum of Work and Culture in Woonsocket, there was a significant amount of French Canadian immigration dating back to the late 17th century. Perhaps also reach out to the Franco-American School in Providence, they might have some resources for you, too.

I would argue that it goes further back than Fox News. You can see conservatives in the immediate aftermath of the Civil Rights era sowing the seeds of the current party in the Southern Strategy - appealing to voters in that region through dog-whistle appeals to racism, sexism, and Christian nationalism. It's as if each decade has doubled down on the Southern Strategy since it's implementation in the mid-1960s.

5.5% of people living in PVD identify as Asian, which is pretty small compared to other ethnicities (although it's the highest population in the state). Do you think having a large percentage of Asians in your graduating class speaks more to which neighborhood you lived in?
