After the death of Christina Spicuzza, I can completely understand why drivers and delivery people won't go to certain spots. The BS "pay" from Gig companies isn't worth it.

Your mortgage company should simply pay it and then ask you to either make a one time payment to cover it, or spread that cost over the next 12 months. Every time we had an escrow shortage (usually due to the home insurance $$ going up, this is what they simply did for us).

Sure... just as soon as they have any proof that I ever received their letter. I think they have bigger fish to go after these days.

Same.... I've gotten several, tossed them.... if they want proof, maybe they should send them certified?

I've always ignored the jury duty letters. They have zero proof that I ever received them.... must have got lost in the junk mail...

Reply to Pros and Cons of buying a home in Monroeville by ChefKil
Going to and from downtown via the Squirrel Hill Tunnel traffic will get annoying quite quickly. Monroeville would probably be the last place I'd move if I wanted to be close to everything good in Pgh. An ex of mine lives out there, and I used to dread any time I'd have to deal with driving out or back from there.

It's way better than it was about 15 years ago. No more traffic lights, wider, and besides the current improvement going on at the highland park bridge its fine. And it will be way better once the new lane is added at the bridge exit.

You can contest it online, just write a simple explanation in the online form, they usually reduce it by at least half,

So how long do you stick around knowing that your services aren't appreciated in any way? I think after a handful of years without any sort of increase you might want to look elsewhere. Otherwise it gets to be like Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin to arrive.

At (combined) $1800 a month (~21k a year) you're falling just barely above the US poverty guideline of ~18k a year for 2 people. I'm going to guess that you probably won't qualify for a 100k home loan, nor does it really leave you much wiggle room for utilities, food, and basic maintenance.
