The parts of Dana that didn't flood are a very spooky area now. Roads, sidewalks, all exist but no homes or businesses. It's like a strange pre-fab neighborhood before the homes get delivered.

Was out there last week, worth the day trip. The whole region is stunning thus time of year.

I don't like it. It's where soccer moms and Karen's breed. It is basically like living in one giant HOA Neighborhood. The main street is meant to be quaint, but it limits businesses and advertising. Limits colors of homes in historic district. Traffic is a giant nightmare, there is no direct access to Holden from a highway. People don't let you cross the road. It is not pedestrian friendly. The cops are giant douchbags that harass anyone from out of town, ticket anyone that drives from out of town. They won't allow growth of the town and what is allowed are ugly mcmansions. It's an extremely white community that goes on and on about diversity, yet lives 10 miles from anything near it. There is NOTHING to do as a youth except hangout at the local Walgreens parking lot. Wachusett is overcrowded, underfunded and has some horrible teachers there. They also have a HUGE drug problem. Their domestic violence numbers are high. They have 1 grocery store in the whole town, retail businesses are sparse, shopping needs to be done elsewhere or online. They're snobby, rude and think their shit doesn't stink. It's the definition of WASP town. It costs an arm and a leg and 2 first born to live there because they wanna "preserve the integrity" of the town- basically keep it wealthy and white.

Holden sucks toilet water that they have to bring in from Worcester because they don't have enough of their own. Why someone would willingly live there astounds me daily. I will drive an extra 10 miles to avoid going near that cesspool of snobbery.

I call it the Natick of Central MA.

Might I suggest the Broadway on Water Street(potato pancakes or chili cheese omelette) or Alteas on Park Ave (corned beef hash with poached eggs or the croque Monsiuer.) Diner food is ok in city but their are better choices....

Just look for the Pink Floyd sweatshirt and sleeve tattoo- you'll find me.

Friend of mine has a band space there. I've been to many a party in there. It's a lot of drugs and booze and no one overseeing anything. The space is wild, it's also another warehouse fire waiting to happen. Last time I was there I got lost for 20 minutes trying to exit the place. It's like a Neverending maze of hallways and turns. It's poorly lit like out of a horror film, black and red walls, foam on the walls for sound proofing and no neighbors around to call the cops on them. I always wondered how it got past fire safety and inspections.

Stop Cafe on Park Ave

Great coffee, I'm not a huge coffee drinker- but when I want one- I go there. the coffee is still impeccably made.

They also have Albanian food served for lunch and dinner, it's also a pizza place. Albanian food is excellent- pizza not so much.

Added bonus- the owners are very easy on the eyes.

Tell me about it, I've been going there since I was a little kid in the 80s and they were a lot smaller. Definitely changed over past year. I can't think of one reason to go back anymore. Can go down the road to Quinns and get better food, and an atmosphere that isn't conducive to anyone born after 1975.

Foods not horrible, but it isn't 15/20 $ a plate good. It's basically become the new Millbrook. A lot of older people (55+) same old bland food with minimal taste.

I gotta add, the cleanliness was a problem. Fruit flies all over the bar. Was actually quite grossed out by it. I've seen flies before- this was on another level. And for an Irish Pub/Restaurant - they had very little whiskey beyond Jameson and some average bourbon.

My expectations were never high for it. It's consistently mediocre- but for those prices- I expect more than that nowadays. Probably won't be going back again, was always a great little spot just not my vibe anymore.

I don't see them lasting beyond a year or two and functions is only thing that'll keep them going for that.
