What !! is it really that much??? It can't be

so for a class of 20 that $660,000 lets say there are 8 classes of 20 for a "group that they break them into " that requires 9 teachers ..lets say 10 teachers plus 2 admins per group all costing 200k including benefits. That 2million . Leaving 3.28 million per group. Most grades have multiple groups.

No taxes on city own buildings - littler over a million a year in maintenance needed per building that that's a sample size of 160 students and there are far more then that per grade. let say 1.28 in maintenance fees and greenkeeping .

Leaving 2 million - take into account security and other admins and where the hell does the rest of that go if the building , programs and staff is paid for with that already.

I understand there is construction cost and student program cost like sports and such .

I would love to see an indepth look at their budget and see where all the money is going. Isnt a large part of the new construction city funded from separate pot?

If that number is true that is nuts.

Just googled it - its still not legal in NJ. Just not a felony anymore .

Its still up to a $1000 fine and probation or up to 6 months in jail for repeat offense . Most liberal cities like JC have policies in place to not bother with small amount ,but you get caught in some of the harder core suburbs or towns in NJ your still getting nailed.

seriously...small business owner offering an OPTIONAL lunch and learn where they teach you stuff and you get feed and maybe make a buck . Your paying for the food and shrooms which are not free so why would this be free....

She isnt a teacher - im sure she would he happy to educate people in the manor as well but this is a posting or an "lunch event" the arrogance of people like you is the issue here.

This is someone trying to run a business , do a bit of promotion and give you a good deal on a lunch and learn .

Hell probably if your nice to her will let you sample the "good stuff" which i just found out in this very thread is decriminalized .

So wait they want to replace a bridge they just spent billions on repairing to make last another decade and expanding .

A bridge STILL undergoing an expansion originally approved to handle additional tariffic from the skyway project - which itself was delayed , which was closed , fixed and reopened all before the improvements to handle the extra traffic from it were finished on the NBB. (Newark bay bridge) . Ya i know they found " Structural" problems during it that had to "fix"

But no penalty for being years behind either !

they added two new bridge to the project to replace Newark bay bridge ...so now you can get to the Holland tunnel entrance twice as fast where it becomes a parking lot . They must figure by getting all the cars their faster that you can probably turn your engine off for a while to wait to go in instead of slowly crawling forward .

Honestly would be better off building a new tunnel for that price - nothing like making 12 lanes of traffic go into two lanes ...or often 1 lane and instead of trying to address that bottle next they just make the middle of the bottle wider

Studies have shown its actually about half that .

I mean studies actually show about 2.7 billion but somehow when the started it a few years back - it was up over a billion before they even finished phase 1 of 6 staging that was only supposed to cost 200 million MAX with that including delays . Delays had entire staffs sitting around doing almost nothing for weeks or months - no one called them off stopped anything.

Someone should of gone to jail for that but it was barely a media .....200 million dollars in payroll for thousands of works and tons of supplies that sat around for months doing nothing but collecting checks.

You build stuff like that with excess or sponsored money or making deals with companies . The era of the art deco style buildings that look good and marble city halls with beautiful design was an era of well run cities with surplus to budgets being well managed . The story behind the marble in that place is one of the most corrupt things ive ever heard too - look it up but the TL:DR is they insisted on imported specialty marble no higher quality then what they could of got locally for 10x the price AND its a marble not made for high volumes so needs DAILY Maintenance when they could of got marvel that looked almost identical that was lower maintenance and better for high volumes at less then have the cost. But they wanted the "Italian marble " from the company one of the decisions makes had "trusted relationship with"

All that is fine for personal choice in your home or even a private business , not with our money.

I for one am all for making things look better in the public domain instead of all these cookie cutter prefabs - but spending ALITTLE bit more to make it look good on tax payer money is mostly ok. Spending a massive and excessive amount to pad the pockets of friends of your IS NOT

This is exactly the problems with crusaders sometimes. Like a dude is doing tons of bad things and that more then enough to focus on and get all the support.

But they they tact on minor things or worse that they do it start exaggerating or blowing up minor things into major things. It detracted from the convo, it give their enemies ammo to be like see she it lying or exaggerating about this so she is lying about everything it confuses the situation . It rallies the supports into a frenzy .

When you catch someone doing something bad focus on the facts , review your argument etc.

it more then pays for itself - but they have the PAPD to pay for out of that budget and all the inflated salaries , not to mention sweetheart deals with construction companies that cost 12x what the projected expenses should be.

They could start their own construction department and only have them work 3 months out of the year and sit around for 9 months and still be ahead of schedule and come in cheaper they some of these contracts.

Look at the Holland tunnel it cost 49 million to build , todays dollars that about 800 million today.
Yet somehow making a new train tunnel cost 3-4 BILLION plus over runs.
And a new transit tunnel is said to cost double that .
