I’d have considered that a hardware issue, since MagSafe shouldn’t just stop functioning! But hey, it’s working now!

Sadly, you’d be surprised how many people never think of rebooting when they have an issue. “My iPhone started doing something, what do I do?” Tried rebooting? “…wow, that fixed it, thanks!”

Do you want a larger phone? Don’t get the mini.

Do you want a smaller phone? Get the mini.

Other than display size and battery capacity, they’re the same phone.

That’s the reason. Battery is on the way out.

The moment it dips to 79, get that sucker replaced by Apple. That’s the source of your issues.

Alternately, switch up to an SE 2020 or 2022, same form factor as the 8 but newer internals. Assuming you prefer the 8 form factor over the 13/13 mini/14 Pro/Max/Plus/etc!

Battery replacement will be cheaper, but either SE will last you a lot longer.

You’re dumb because you somehow expect Apple to give you cloud storage equivalent to the storage already on your phone without expecting reimbursement.

Do you also complain that your computer’s cloud storage of choice (if you use it) isn’t giving you free space equivalent to your computer’s hard drive?

Good grief.

Well, it sure sounds like a hardware fault. If the mic doesn’t work for anything, then the mic is dead.

Have any AirPods, Bluetooth headphones or wired lightning headphones to test with?
