My Olfas have more sensible handles:

That said no plastic-handled anything is going to be BIFL like traditional drop-forged styles with high-chrome and nickel steel.

I find the micro-serrated blades objectionable. They have their uses in dismantling packages, which is what I mostly use them for, not for anything requiring precision.

The licensed/reissued Braun analog alarm clocks, while not as good as the originals, still have the silent German movement that won't prevent you from falling asleep with an obnoxious tick-tock noise.

One model worth considering is the BNC008BK-RC. It has a world radio time signal receiver that sets it automatically almost wherever you are in the world, and is fairly compact for travel.

They won't meet your two-setting requirement, but will outperform clocks that have that but lack the radio or silent movement.

What's really crazy is that the good citizens of San Francisco voted for two of these scumbags' kid as DA, despite his clearly announcing he was going to stop prosecuting criminals. Fortunately he was recalled this year.

The Exergen temporal artery thermometer is basically the same one my daughter’s pediatrician or UCSF hospital uses, just without the metal construction and disposable caps for sanitary purposes a medical setting requires. That’s why it costs $30 instead of $200 for the professional version.
