Not sure what you’re looking to spend and what the family is into— but if they like hunting and fishing, 15 is the cutoff to buy a lifetime license. You’d need to coordinate with the parents on purchasing it.

Right— the police are probably like “wow, a plate that comes back to the same vehicle it’s supposed to be on, not expired, valid insurance.”

If you get a bill, check out their charity care policy, you could get a discount on your bill all the way up to 399% of your FPL. That’s $58k for a single individual. If it doesn’t help you, hopefully it helps somebody else.

Glad you are feeling better!

Choose the cheaper supplier from EnergizeCT.
Windows aren’t usually the culprit, it’s typically air sealing that needs to be done. You can get $1000 worth of air sealing for $50 through a state program.

Space heater? Electric hot water?
Have you switched to a competitive supplier yet?

Delivery charge hasn’t gone up in a year plus. Switching to a competitive supplier means saving $70/month for a household that uses 750kWh/month.

Check north of Hartford. Windsor Locks (low taxes), up to Enfield, over to Ellington area. There are options under $300k.
Have you begun working with an agent? Do you have pre-approvals in hand? 20% down isn’t always necessary, be sure to save some cash for repairs.
Keep in mind most homes in this area will sell for 1-5% over asking price.

You haven’t seen high egg prices? Stop and Shop is easily $7.49-$8 per dozen.

Whole Foods has competitive pricing. Stuff is often the same or cheaper than Stop&Shop IMO. Here are prices for the Avon location today.

60 eggs at Walmart for $19.98. A dozen at Whole Foods for $4.29-$4.79.
Stop and Shop pricing has been insane for around a year now. Mostly stopped going there.

Regarding the electric rates, if you choose a competitive supplier, they are some of the lowest in New England… I believe.

Reply to comment by Itothesky in New Haven Board of Ed. security officer fires gun at teen who was breaking into his car: PD by EasyE0287
The kids began running away as soon as Graybrown started yelling at them. They retreated from the property. You can’t kill somebody for that.
Saying he “believed the juvenile had a gun” is likely not legally sound in this case. The teens were “running away.” Had they started to move towards Graybrown and make their way into his house, maybe the law would see that differently.
Responsible gun owners are responsible for understanding how the law is applied in these situations.

Nah, then he might have a murder charge. For somebody who was running away from his property who he thought had a gun.
When you carry, you need to understand how the law works and applies in various situations.

The State Police probably love it. Lower the speed limit to 55 when crossing from Maine, everybody goes over that limit, they can stop any car they want!
Glad they decriminalized small amounts, but a record still affects people.

Gonna agree with this, the PCP availability at UConn… call them as soon you you might think you are moving to the area, given the level of care you’ll need. Ask about their schedule for seeing patients also.
This might go for other areas too, not sure.
gregra193 t1_j2fdj94 wrote
West Hartford. Great doctors on either side in Farmington and Hartford. Check if UConn Health and Hartford Healthcare are in-network for you. Farmington is also littered with private/smaller PCP and Specialist practices that also mostly take insurance.
You could get one hell of a house in West Hartford for $1M. You could probably even spend less. Very highly rated schools. Walkable if you live in the right area, which you can with that budget.
There are at least three ERs in the area to choose from also. UCONN, Hartford Healthcare, and St Francis. All within a 10-15 minute drive.

Preserve the Sound is decent, but the graphics are like Clip Art from MS Word ‘97. They still have a notch for the pre-2006 expiration stickers too.
Compared with other New England states, CT designs really should be refreshed.

The standard design is like…okay for a basic plate that doesn’t cost any extra.
The additional design options are super outdated…like pre-2006 outdated, evidenced by the lingering spot for an expiration sticker.
Compared to a state like Maine, the design options in CT are pathetic!
