Reply to As a lifelong Bergen resident: Fuck Google Maps. Yeah, it's only 8 miles, but you try making the trip from Bergenfield to Yonkers just to get kielbasa. And this happens with any store, not just Polish delis. Sidenote: Does anyone know a good place to get Kielbasa near Bergen? by BootPastaHeroin
Practically and Deli in Wallington/Garfiled/Lodi will have amazing home cooked food and good Deli meats.
My go to is Bratek Deli on River Drive in Garfield when I want Polish food.

I you put your turn signal on in NY/NJ area asshole behind you will most likely cut you off and won't allow you to merge.

So I'm no longer a grumpy boomer, thank you :)
Just so you know I read the original mean spirited and self-entitled comment you wrote, as well as the second one you deleted, but I'll keep it to myself. Your words already showed who you are, so all I will say it this.
This holiday is about respect and appreciation for other humans. Most people have friends and family they want to spend a family holiday with. Or they could simply take a well deserved day off alone and do absolutely nothing. But they can't.
Restaurants stay open because people show up. If you stay home they would close. It is as simple as that, and while it is true that fraction of the work force might be willing to work on Thanksgiving vast majority would like to spend their time with their loved ones. Get it?
Do you ask staff at the restaurant before you show up are they working because they want to work or because they must?
Happy Thanksgiving, and birthday to your sister, enjoy!!!

Cook for you sister or order in day in advance. People in service industry deserve to have a holiday as well.

Be careful what you wish for. There is not a single country in history that thrived as a libertarian country.

>There would be no such thing as small businesses if this were the case
Of course there would be small business. Having competitive minimum wages would make small business thrive.
Having higher minimum wage would make them competitive with slave owners such as Walmart, McDonalds, Dunkin Doughnuts, Walgreens, Pizza Hut, etc...
It is not Tony from a local pizza place and Jennifer from a coffee shop who spend billions of dollars each year on PACs, think-tanks, lobbying, union busting, and buying politicians.
It is minimum wage corporate welfare queens who's business model is not being competitive by being the best, but by monopolizing markets, driving small businesses out of business, and keeping wages artificially low in order to maximize profits.
It is their spokespeople who hammered that phrase in our heads. Please stop repeating nonsense that has nothing to do with reality.
