As far as I understand, it can be used to unlock for another country but it won’t help with the blacklist in the same country where the blacklist occurred. I would double check with the site where you buy the RSIM.

Yeah I saw someone post in r/ that they will frequently accept Uber Eats orders and mark food as being delivered but just eat the food. I can only imagine someone accepting an Apple order and doing this. There has to be something they can do for an order to not be marked as delivered until the customer accepts it in the app. I have never used Uber Eats or Doordash but if I ever do I guarantee it won’t be for a $2000 purchase.

To me a lot depends on do you often put your phone down in public places? Do you have a lot of instances where you don’t know where your phone is? At your place of work are there a lot of thefts? Are you often in crowded areas? Do you use it on public transportation a lot where someone could grab it out of your hand and run? How is crime in your place of residence?

Just remember that theft or loss is not an instant replacement like AppleCare+. It goes through a third party and you have to work with them. Also, I believe the deductible is around $250. So look at the cost for two years plus the cost of the deductible and determine if that will be worth it to you if you have just one loss or theft in 2 years. Of course it covers more but if you’ve never lost or had one stolen I would just factor in one.

The biggest change that’s been made is you can no longer purchase from the Kindle app on iOS or Android. This is because Apple and Google charge a 30% fee through the app. What you need to do is log into Amazon on a web browser and purchase from there. It will almost immediately download to your phone.

The 14 Pro is a great phone but definitely heavier as well. Take into consideration if you’ll be buying a case and/or screen protector as well. Also, read the fine print and make sure the iPhone 12 is included in the $1000 off. I’ve been screwed over by that before. I was assured a particular phone qualified but later found out it wasn’t.

That really sucks that that happened to you. Unfortunately in all the terms and agreements any compensation really comes down to fixing the product and they they are very specific that compensation will not exceed the cost of the product. Loss of data or time is never covered by any tech company and I don’t know of anyone that’s been able to get around that. Even if you were able to file a successful suit against Apple you’d have a lot to prove which may not be provable. The first would be proving you had automatic updates turned off. After that you’d have to prove what all you lost in the way of money by missing your flight. Even then, they’ll probably state that any disputes have to go to arbitration. In days like today with all the technology we have and how much we rely on it, things are occasionally going to go wrong. It’s one of the reasons my wife prints out every boarding pass, hotel confirmation, car rental confirmation, etc. before we travel.

The big thing is water resistance wears off over time. Apple doesn’t cover water damage even in the first year of the warranty. Apple doesn’t even claim it’s waterproof but claims water resistant. You can find tons of posts where people have gotten their device wet and now the camera doesn’t work or the display is discolored or it won’t turn on at all. For this reason, I never get my phone wet on purpose.

I had my daughter’s iPhone 7 battery replaced and when I came back they said the front glass cracked while opening it so they put on a new one at no charge. They said it is very common when replacing batteries.

There won’t be a new SE in 2023. Most likely spring of 2024. They have had to scale back on production of the 14 Plus. It’s sales are worse than the mini. The Pro Max will probably be replaced by the Ultra. Dynamic island most likely will come to everything but the SE. USB-C technically doesn’t have to happen until the iPhone 17 so I’m guessing they’ll squeeze at least one more year out of Lightning.
