Reply to Inspector General report says Baltimore County spent $70k to benefit businessperson at Council Chairman’s request by Cody_in_Baltimore
I like that they appoint an inspector to find fraud and waste and then attack the office when waste and fraud is found.
Why does it seem like every politician is just a shitty grinder.
Also its apparently cheap as fuck to get whatever you want from these assholes. $5k from a business and $2500 personal check gets you a $70k private driveway.

Except everyone watching adds to the total viewership which just gives fifa the go ahead to continue being shitty. If this ends up getting massively lower ratings than previous world cups that at least shows that people aren't ok with this.
Is it really so much to give up?

Every day? For years now and ongoing.
The fact that people are actively seeking this out and ignoring the thousands of lives lost to setup this atrocity is disheartening at best.

Personally I think Baltimore is half philly and half Richmond. We have the same architecture and accents as Philly but a slower feel and more casual laid back people like a more southern city like Richmond.

Yeah thats enough to have a nice house, a car, savings you contribute to and then extra for vacations, random fun things, cool "toys" or even a decently expensive hobby without worry.
Above that you start either pushing to buy bigger houses or crazier cars or if you are frugal just investing it. The houses and cars will end up making you potentially less happy as you will never have the biggest or nicest and the invesent is great but generally not massively fulfilling in terms of happiness.

They say money doesn't buy happiness but I bet the person who first said that wasn't living paycheck ti paycheck.
Money removes a massive amount of stress from people's lives. At least to a certain point where I personally think it becomes toxic. But that sweet spot in the middle is pretty nice. Bills paid, kids education taken care of and extra for fun stuff is a nice place to hang out.

Reply to comment by ThatguyfromBaltimore in The SFE Energy Door-to-Door Scam is Back by Dr_Midnight
Came to my house 2 or 3 years ago and after half a sentence I slammed the door in their face. I then watched them go to my neighbor across the street. I watched as she went inside and came back with a bill. I ran across the street yelling, don't show them your bill. They looked shocked and then got really defensive. I told her they were going to sign her up without her consent and they were selling a lie. They kept saying it's a real company it's real electricity. I asked her who they said they worked for and she said "bge" I then stared at these assholes and asked why they told me a different company then her. They didn't seem to have an answer and kind of slicked away. I yelled for them not to bother any other neighbors as they turned the corner.
Felt pretty good. Fuck those guys ripping off little old ladies who don't know any better.

We should do birthday pies instead of birthday cakes.
And while we are at it close all these cupcake shops and open cup pie shops.
I'd much rather have a nice 3 or 4 bite sized cherry pie than an $8 cupcake with too many flavors and wacky candy and too sweet frosty on top.

Chiaparellis.
Very old school traditional Italian spot. White table cloths, old waiters, very good fellas stuck in a moment in time kind of place.
Fancy but plenty of families there all the time and what kids don't like spaghetti and meatballs? (Other than mine every other day randomly)

Fuck both of these clowns.
I get it's a Halloween costume and they are on their own time but why post it?
The police hate the mosbys for charging the Freddie gray cops and a majority of their constituents range between distrust and hate of cops flat out. So this idiotic duo dress up in the only costume that literally piases off everyone they deal with in their elected positions.
So happy marilyn is leaving, hopefully her moron tax avoiding husband is next on the chopping block.

I still love and respect him. Guy was trying to make a point and missed the mark. It's hardly the same as what Kanye said. Also Torrey has done and still does amazing things for baltimore and people in need. He has a charity he is very active in and constantly gives his time and money to good causes.
But yeah go ahead and speak for everyone like we will all just dump him because he screwed up on one single comment.

Don't think it's allowed.
City code says buildings may encroach into public right of way but no more than any surrounding dwellings. So if yours is the outlier then it likely won't fly.

Seriously the red line running from 70 to bayview would have been amazing. Even just for the access to 4 different hospitals without having to drive and park would almost make it worthwhile. Add in access to the harbor, canton and fells and we could have been well on our way to a functional transit system.

Reply to comment by narkj in NBA Basketball team. by narkj
Aside from the arena size I don't think the NBA is particularly interested in the area. They have philly and dc which already cover a majority of the viewership they would get from a baltimore team. With a baltimore team they would get more viewership but I imagine it wouldn't be massive as any basketball fans south of Glen Burnie are likely already wizards fans and any north of bel air can easily watch 76ers games. So baltimore would really have to push to get the NBAs attention and they would have to either move a team or add expansion teams and I don't think either of those are likely to happen in the near future.
