Their hands are tied because they’ve not shown leadership on the DeGeis hit & run outrage. They can’t appear to be less than even-handed on this stuff now so don’t look for justice or policy enforcement going forward.

It’s demolition. They’ll crack all the cement chunks into rubble, move off all the debris, and leave an empty dirt lot. THEN you’ll see the development.

Exactly. They’re happy to put on their historians hat but only if they can go digging for esoteric antisemitic nuggets buried deep in the past.

Let’s build those things on the nearby underutilized golf course. I’ve lived in town for decades and I’ve yet to ever meet anyone who’s played golf there, lol. Tear down that eyesore and let the people use the land.

I fear if I go back I’ll break the time continuum and when I try to go back outside it’ll be the 90’s again.

Second Patrick O’Brian, he’s a one man world unto himself with his twenty novels that are really one huge novel. Can you imagine the character development you get over the span of twenty novels that feature the same five or six main characters?

I’ve never heard a maritime pro say anything other than high or low tide. “Seas” is interchange with “waves” as in “then we shipped a huge sea and it broke the Derrick”.
jerseycityfrankie t1_j6xue97 wrote
Two things: shame on the Brazilian Navy for allowing the ships deterioration to run far past the point of being able to safely tow the hulk. That is profoundly unprofessional and completely avoidable. The other thing that bothers me is the news item title. You can’t be “at” the “high seas”, it’s not a place. You can only be “on” the High Seas, a state of being.

Why is it so hard to hire intelligent people for critical jobs within the public eye? Even Harvard can’t manage a college athletic department that won’t shit itself in public.

I’d support legislation designed to restrict religious fundamentalist candidates from running unless they could somehow prove their religious beliefs wouldn’t influence their policy making. Not sure how that would be engineered but the separation of church and state is the fundamental guiding principle.
