If you ski or board, mount southington is extremely small but IMO fun and pretty damn cheap. No idea how conditions are this year though. Believe they host some other events rest of the year too

You realize it’s usually homeless people in there when it’s occupied for extended periods of time right? Hence why it typically reeks (no offense to them). No idea what they’re doing in there

It is pretty insane that small ass bathroom is all that’s available for such a busy train station. But then again there are zero shops, offices, or apartments around the train station so not surprised by how lackluster it is inside.

It shouldn’t be surprising that the people who pay the highest income taxes and contribute the most to tax revenue in CT and in the USA are granted access to emergency disaster relief….

Also there’s nothing indicating everyone living in those homes could afford a $1mm down payment or $10k mortgages

I’m super excited about this project and any revitalizing projects in new Britain. My entire family is from there but left as the city deteriorated and businesses pulled out.

Drove by today and I think the slogan they are using is Hard Hittin New Livin or something like that which is…an interesting choice. Also advertised as “luxury” which is…interesting given there is a bail bond storefront within eye sight of the building lol

Google “worst cities in America” and Bport wasn’t in the lists of any of the top 5 search results. I have no doubt you can find it on some lists, but it simply is not as ubiquitous on those lists as it once was. There’s no denying the improvement in crime stats in bridgeport relative to the 90s. I’m not trying to make it out as a rosy place either, I know it has many shithole parts.

Also there’s aren’t many comments on here about hartford being up and coming. Most of those types of comments are about New Haven which I don’t really disagree with.

Most people are aware hartford is a disaster and will never improve unless the state comes up with billions to completely revise the highway system and fix other issues…even then it wouldnt have a tax base because of all the state buildings.

Pretty fucked up kids were able to access edibles and is that seriously the packaging on them?

Parents probably going to get charged or fined I would expect?

Feel like the #1 obvious solution is to not be a shitty parent who (a) gives kids easy access to edibles (or booze etc) and (b) talk to your kids about drugs and alcohol (although I doubt many people expect their kids to have to be on guard on the bus in fucking elementary school).

The #2 obvious solution is change the fucking packaging lol - no need for it to look like regular candy, be brightly colored, and share the same name with regular candy (nerds).

Sincerely - someone who thoroughly enjoys edibles.

Interesting point! I’m curious how high electricity costs can go before it’s prohibitive / neutral to use heat pumps? I suppose the cost of electricity is likely to rise as oil prices go up (as we’ve seen) so there’s a correlation between the two meaning heat pumps are usually advantageous

I would recommend getting a solar audit / quote done before buying heat pumps if you are looking for maximal savings. It pays to at least know what capacity your roof setup allows for - and it would suck if you put the heat pumps in and then the solar generated is no where near sufficient

Ecoer is an increasingly popular brand, who quoted you? Mitsubishi i another very good brand

I generally agree that in New Haven and throughout the entire state the number of cops patrolling and enforcing traffic laws had decreased (seemingly A LOT).

I doubt this is a big contributor but for what it’s worth: cops cannot pursue vehicles on chases, so for the more nefarious individuals running lights and committing other crimes, they just have to drive away to avoid the police…
