The Blind and Deaf School on Corliss St, I went once on a summer weekend pre Covid, didn't see any signs that it was open or closed to the public.

Providence College track on River Ave side, if I recall the signage it is open to the public with restricted times.

Right on the Cranston/Providence line in back of Roger Williams Park is an ok track open to the public.

Wow this has got to be one of the craziest post I've ever seen regarding a homeless individual, usually it's them juggling between a roof over their head or if the roof is pet friendly. So I see you got a job and into a decent shelter which is great, finding a room shouldn't be hard once you stack up money but finding and affordable apartment that might be a challenge.

Out of curiosity what brings you from CA to RI?

I'm actually trying to do the opposite and move back to CA

A guy disconnected from reality with a knife wielding it around, your best bet was to call the police, he could injure himself or someone else. Mental issue or high on drugs who knows I certainly don't hence let the police deal with it.
