Where are you exactly? Me and some others run a meetup out of Manchester called 20s and 30s hanging out. That's the only kind of group that isn't old people lol! I haven't had time to schedule anything lately but it historically has been a very active group. If you like sports check out my social sports, I play a lot of soccer through there. I also go to young professionals networks such as the Manchester young professionals Even with this stuff yes I agree, new Hampshire is a very old population and most the people young are still recluses. It's hard being a social person and most people I meet would just rather stay home :(

I always drive to the alewife station, 10 bucks to park, 5 bucks for the train both ways, in Boston is likely 20-30 bucks just parking. I say within a couple years the commuter line will return to Nashua-Manchester-Concord, it's been getting traction, I can't wait how much easier it will be to pop into Boston

My dad's and architect and the number of self storage units being built is astounding. We have theorized that it's 2 things, boomers had a shit ton of stuff and are dying / downsizing. When the younger generation is inheriting the things, they live mostly in smaller rental units ( home ownership is waayyyy down) so there's nowhere to put the things. It's all across the country too, so it's a massive shift of just stuff people can't fit. This is why I only buy from the used market these days, everything's so cheap!

Reply to Hiking NH by ___j-b___

I use "all trails" for anything from a 1 hour walk to a 2 day 40 mile 5000 footer hike If you are new to hiking, start with local walks/hills sub 500 foot and a couple miles maybe. just start working your way up. When you get to the mountains always prepare for the worst, survival kit, emergency thermal blanket, dress PREPARED, always bring more water than you think you need, bring extra snacks. try not to hike alone even though I do it sometimes. I highly recommend working to the 4000 footers. There's no experience like the top Franconia ridge but damn is it a trek.

Also keep in mind a hike may say 8 hours, but some people trail run killing that average. Being a fine speed I usually tack on 20% more time for the long hikes to be extra safe

I (27M) was in the same boat when I moved here three years ago, NH is especially hard for meeting new friends. I met lots of people through mainly 3 avenues: Meetup (app) stuck to 20s and 30s groups because everything else is old people lol. Soccer, joined through mysocialsports. (They also do volleyball bowling Cornhole etc..) also the nemba for mountain biking Young professionals networking, Manchester and Keene have pretty active young professionals networks, Nashua's is coming back. Depends on what you like but I say find activities or sports you like and just start going, that's where people like you will be!
