>I can't stand politics in movies

What's your favorite movie? I guarantee it has a political message

>however in the process it just made everything in the past star wars movies meaningless and pointless, the efforts of the rebel alliance didn't matter because the empire returned in the form of the first order, Palpatine was still breathing, apparently, you could have heal wounds with the force this whole time, they turned Luke into an old bitter hermit etc

All valid criticisms, none of them have anything to do with the gender of the main character. The movies were poorly written, that has nothing to with "wokeism" or whatever

>Doing a piece of media simply for a woke agenda only doesn't work it makes the whole film feel rushed and boring like the Disney star wars trilogy

Do you think Disney was doing that to promote their political message? They were doing it because Star Wars sells. Those movies made billions of dollars.

>These reboots fail every time because the classics are so good you cannot recreate them these are once-in-a-lifetime treasures and successes you cannot make gold out of scratch.

Except for Mad Max: Fury Road, Blade Runner 2049, The Batman and all of the other reboots and remakes that are actually good.

>Sadly it may never stop because despite how cheap and lazy they are they still make tons of money.

This is the main point. Hollywood is a business and they do things to make money. There are plenty of indie movies out there if you're actually looking for some solid art

You should get on Letterboxd if you're not already. That's a better platform for this kind of thing and it will make it easier for you to sort through your movies and reviews later on

2022 horror movies roughly in order of how much I liked them:

Barbarian

Bones and All

Nope

Skinamarink

X

Pearl

Bodies Bodies Bodies

Adult Swim Yule Log

Men

Watcher

Scream 5

Smile

Werewolf by Night

No Exit

The Menu

Speak No Evil

Watcher

Crimes of the Future

Deadstream

Halloween Ends

Hellraiser

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Escape the Field

So far this year I've also seen M3gan and Infinity Pool. Of all of those movies, only Deadstream is found footage, and even that one is produced to look like a Twitch stream so there's more production value than something like Blair Witch Project. Skinamarink isn't found footage but it does sort of feel like it.

>As a horror fan this is upsetting.because so many these days are found footage.

I don't think this is even true anymore. I watched like 30 horror movies that came out last year and maybe 1 or 2 of them were found footage. That trend has mostly died out over the last 5-10 years.

The movie isn't about food necessarily, it's about all art. The movie was making fun of the snobs that try to gatekeep and insist there's a correct way to enjoy art. It could just as easily apply to people on this sub that get all snooty when someone says they liked a Michael Bay movie or whatever. The point is to just shut up, let people enjoy things, and don't be a jackass.

This movie rules. I think you undersold how batshit it is because I don't even know how to explain the plot without sounding like a psycho. Really, really entertaining movie and like every Argento movie, the soundtrack absolutely bops.
