Twelve days later, she became a Harrisburg lobbyist. ...

Aren Platt, a senior adviser to Parker’s campaign, said Parker is highly qualified for her new role, which he described as an advisory position in which she offers guidance to the lobbying firms’ leaders but does not directly lobby state officials.

He added that Parker, a single mother who has a 10-year-old son, needed income after resigning from Council to run in the mayor’s race.

“She is incredibly highly thought of in Harrisburg,” Platt said. “She is a single mother. She does need income. She started talking with old friends at Rooney Novak Isenhour who actually offered her a position.”

It is intended to keep office holders focused on the job they have and not the job they want, but it is really stupid and fails to take into account but not everybody has worked in investment banking before entering public life and can afford to run for office without a salary, which sets up messy situations like what Parker is now doing.

The whole point of this bullshit exercise was for all the endangered Republicans to go back to their white suburban/rural districts and say look at our great accomplishments! we're impeaching that bad man in Philadelphia!, and now they're not even doing that.

What a pathetic excuse for a legislative body.

JFK was condemned in 1989 and demolished in 1992.

Not only were the JFK seats just benches and the facility neglected, but (as that photo shows) they went low-and-flat with the design, so the upper rows were insanely far from the field/stage.

Except it makes sense, given the 95/76 intersection as well as proximity to the port and airport, that this is where you'd put a lot of commercial space.

And, obviously, they had overlap for about 13 years; it was great seeing Springsteen there one last time as a special treat.

China Gourmet is exceptional. I actually don't love the dim sum there as much as just ordering off the menu, which you can always do. Lobster is cheap AF and tasty.
