Well I guess that’s going to be the first priority of Maura Healy’s new MBTA GM.
On the plus side for those of us who live in Boston, at least we don’t need to make plans to be out of town during that period.

The issue isn’t on the expense side. There’s a lot of important priorities we should invest in. The issue is that MA is still running on Prop 2 1/2, which was a mid-80’s ballot question, which limits property tax growth to 2.5%. Maybe that was sufficient in the 80’s and 90’s. However, with general expenses increasing by 10+% YOY, we are able to do less and less each year.

Due to the CBA, he can’t be fired until it is voted on. Same as if you or I had an employment contract.

The headline is incredibly misleading. He is currently on unpaid admin leave until the select-board can meet to vote to terminate employment. The headline makes it seem like he’s still actively working and getting paid.

I wouldn’t refer to them as depreciating accounts. You’re receiving interest on your account balance, so you will be compensated for the length of time your funds are held with the State.
On a separate note, were you based out of Milford?

There was no attempt to “dunk” here.
But do you have a source that says different than what this source mentioned? Because every article I’ve read on this situation mentions that the officers were allegedly allergic to bees, not that she knew they were allergic.
Any additional information you could provide to help me learn about this situation would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

Completely disagree with you there! Regardless of what you think of the law, these officers were doing their jobs, in a non-violent manner, and didn’t deserve a potential death sentence.
If you don’t like the way the law is written, then either run for office yourself, or vote people into office who match your views. But to wish death on people simply for following the laws in a non-violent manner, is a stark overreaction.
People need to cool down the violent rhetoric!

In all fairness, from what I read in the article, three officers are allegedly allergic, but it didn’t say she confirmed they were allergic, prior to using the bees.
Most likely, she used the bees without considering whether they were allergic or not.
Nonetheless I agree with you that it isn’t cool. It could even rise to the level of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

If you’re already at the top step of a union contract, than it is just a 2.5% COLA. If you’re not yet at the top step, then it’s a 2.5% COLA, plus a step increase of anywhere from 3-5%.
