Westworld should’ve been canceled a long time ago.

Ever since the Gulf War, news channels think everything needs an ominous theme song and a scary graphic bumper. It’s ridiculous.

Someone like Apple should pick up every canceled HBO show just as a huge fuck you to Zazlav.

That might be true, but dumping a bunch of garbage at the border isn’t doing anything but making a mess.

This should be interesting. Who pays to remove it? Hopefully the feds either make the state clean up their mess, or just leaves it there to rot.
Alternatively I suppose the feds could deduct the cleanup amount from funds it would normally send to the state.

Invasion (again the one on ABC, not AppleTV) was the better show. I keep hoping someone picks it up and reboots it some day.
Also, “Invasion”, “Surface” — what’s up with AppleTV re-using old show titles from the 90s? Did they buy a studio that owned these names already or something?

They’ve got a pretty solid streaming package with IFC and Shudder bundled in. I was surprised at how much stuff I was watching when I was subscribed. Their back catalog was almost HBO quality for awhile there as well, with Breaking Bad, Saul, Rubicon, Halt and catch fire, and Lodge 49.
I really wish they’d relaunch Lodge and Rubicon, though I know it’ll probably never happen.
They need just a few more non-Walking Dead shows to fill out their current roster to get year-round subscriptions. For awhile there, they were on par with FX for decent original programming.

Watch season 1 and then stop. Like Westworld, this should have been a one season show.

Honestly it felt like we got two seasons packed into one. I’m surprised Disney didn’t split it at the episode where Cassian goes on holiday, and make us wait until 2023 to watch those episodes. Glad they didn’t tho.

Yes. There was also Blansky’s Beauties.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blansky%27s_Beauties
So:
- Love American Style
- Happy Days
- Laverne and Shirley
- Blansky’s Beauties
I could’ve sworn they renamed Laverne and Shirley in the final season when Shirley left (to something like “Laverne and Friends). But I can’t find anything online to prove it.

- Gloria (1982)
- 704 Hauser Street (1994)
Longest spread between spin-offs:

- Tabitha (1977)

It’s just demographics. I find it interesting that the broadcast networks are all chasing the same audience with endless cop/Doctor/lawyer/fire shows. Only the CW was trying something different, and that experiment seems to be over. Seems like only a couple of demographics still watch broadcast TV.

Boring ass repetitive procedurals still dominating broadcast networks.
In a sliver of hope though, new reality show are not catching on. Sure would be interesting if America’s love affair with reality programming was starting to wane.
