From what I understand the fees scooped up by AirBnB is a pretty substantial part of the amount paid by the customer. Instead of paying AirBnB, perhaps towns can set up their own websites for short-term rentals in their area and the fees can go to building more housing, fixing up abandoned properties, etc.

The definition of jibe you are looking for is: To be in accord; agree.

1.) There need to be more stations and I assume we'll see more built.

2.) Not everyone needs to go electric. It's probably going to be a lengthy transition and/or there may always be some vehicles that need to run gas/diesel.

3.) Sure, that situation sounds like a big hassle. Even now running out of gas seems like a big hassle that would throw a monkey wrench into my day.

A lot of these problems come down to planning ahead. It would certainly depend on the individual cases, but for me I'm unlikely to need to recharge during my daily commute. And if I did, well, there's a charging station outside my building at work that I have access to if needed. Obviously if you drive all day for work that's a very different deal.

There are yield signs. That can sometimes mean stopping if necessary. It's unsafe, but sometimes trying to merge into traffic when no one will let you in is also unsafe.

There are a lot of different types of on ramp situations so there is probably no one-size-fits-all solution that will always be safe.

There's an on ramp in Vermont that has very low visibility to see what sort of traffic you need to merge into until you get past some rocks. On the highway you're trying to merge into there are signs for through traffic to stay to the left, which helps a little. But a lot of people need to stay in the right lane because they're planning to get off at the next exit a quarter mile away. For some reason the people using this on ramp seem to think the solution is to come flying out of the on ramp at about 80+ mph (speed limit on that section of highway is 55 mph).

There are lots of unique situations out there.

Life long Vermonter here and I only heard it for the first time maybe 10 years ago. It seems weird because we have fall, winter, and spring which are all recognizable for their unique features, but then we have this term that to some degree or another could apply to all three. Maybe it just feels a bit too bleak to lump all those seasons together around such a stark image.

My coworker's wife just left there after many, many years and has a very different take on DHMC. It might depend somewhat on the department/position though.
