I was more of a nights and weekends gal, this one was far less crowded than the one on south street so we’d always go here. I had friends that lived in the building to the left (it was Oakwood at the time) so I spent way too many late nights here before stumbling home to my apartment up near the art museum.

Just said the same thing up thread, drank way too many Long Island iced teas here in the late 90s. Left philly in 2004 so it’s been awhile.

Seeing posters from December 1997 or January 1998 when I was a freshman in college makes me feel old as fuck.

May this woman rest in peace, sadly there have been a few other jumpers in nearby buildings in the last few years. Makes me sad to think these souls felt this was the only way out.

Pretty sure Mindless-Budget9019 is Shamey’s burner account, someone else posted that in another Shamey thread yesterday and based on their posting history it fits.

I don’t think you’re a dick at all, that’s a valid question. I’m an equal opportunity snarky snarkerson so i would say the same for either gender, substance abuse definitely ages people.

I’m not saying to give up but I think it’s an extraordinary task to recall her, especially since Fulop seems to back her. The entire situation is a disappointment.

I have to snark for a moment, every time I see this woman I am shocked at how old she looks for her age. I seriously wonder if she has substance abuse issues. I know that was heavily theorized when this first happened because no sober person would flee the scene of a crime that they weren’t at fault for and then report it six hours later.
Sadly she won’t be recalled and it’s amazing the lengths she goes to absolve herself of any personal responsibility. She is a terrible person who sped off and left someone on the side of the road and said nothing and showed zero remorse. The fact that she doubled down with the statement below just shows how arrogant she is.
DeGise’s public relations people released a 377-word statement on her behalf. In it, she falsely asserts that the bicyclist she struck with her SUV last July was “not hurt” and she reiterates that she has no intention of resigning.

I left in 2004 and it’s amazing to see how much has changed since then. If i knew then what i know now I would have bought property back then and not moved to NYC but c’est la vie.

Used to live in that neighborhood 20+ years ago and hearing this blows my mind. When I lived at 48th and Pine in 2000 there were a ton of abandoned properties around me. I can remember an entire block that had apartment buildings on both sides that were burned out and boarded up.

I feel this occasionally in my building, it took me a bit to realize it’s coming from the W/D in adjacent apartments going into the final spin cycle. If it’s a vibration that only lasts a few minutes at a time that’s what it might be.

I wonder if it’s still owned by the same family, i used to love this place when I lived closer to it but it’s probably been about 15 years since I’ve been in here.

I bet you’ve seen a lot of change, I’ve been here since 2004 and never imagined to see what it’s become. Back then I was young and naive and wished it was “more fun like hoboken” and now I’m middle aged and want quiet and wondering why it’s so damn loud all the time…like hoboken.

We are definitely neighbors 👋🏻
I’ve been in Modera since it opened in 2016. Since then I’ve seen the Lively, 10 Provost, The Canopy by Hilton, Haus 25, and a bunch of others rise all around me. I’ve lost track of all the names of the new places here. I think this is my last year in JC so I’m sure in a few years time I won’t recognize this place at all.
It’s a damn shame what was done to the other Provost building, that poor thing was murdered. I’m very curious how the developer got away with tearing down so much of that building unless it wasn’t landmarked.

I remember when WF was announced i was working in Soho and had a chat with a bunch of my coworkers (most of whom lived in jersey city at the time) and we theorized it was a year or two away from opening.
That was in 2019. Almost all of those people are long gone once WFH started in March 2020.
This feels like it’s finally going to happen before the end of the decade.
