To my knowledge… (and take this with a grain of salt) there have been kitchen walkouts already, loooong consecutive days of 12+ hours, and issues with tip pooling/ distribution. Nearly everyone working there last night seemed over it/ exhausted. I’d imagine it’ll be decent money for a while until the splendor wears off and then we’ll see full turnover of the grand opening staff. Source: friend is an employee there.

Went to The Park last night (opens officially on Wednesday) - indoor mini golf, virtual golf, and duck pin bowling. Has food-court style eateries and a self-serve beer wall (don’t they all, these days?) Interesting concept, but the absolutely chaotic unce unce unce unce kinda music was irritating. Heard only bad things about management and employee treatment so far. Those who like bingo/ circuit/ river city roll/ slingshot will enjoy it, however, it’s not my scene unless I take a Xanax.

Anyway, off to the gym shortly. Just started reading Somebody’s Daughter (hardcopy), and Know My Name (kindle) so those will occupy much of my day.

Was MOH in a wedding this weekend - had a blast but my bank account does not agree (turns out a lot of money goes into wedding season!) Another wedding tomorrow, then one next Sunday and I’m packing up the dresses and heels indefinitely.

Really looking forward to doing NOTHING on Friday. I need a day to myself.

A bad job will throw everything else in your view off- I’ve been there. Happy to look over your resume and see if I have any connections that can help (I’m in HR!)

Honestly sounds like the waitstaff is the issue, not necessarily the establishment.

Could’ve even been in a specific server’s section who was otherwise occupied (addressing a discrepancy in the kitchen, dealing with a table who’s asking 400 questions, etc.) and their coworkers didn’t address the table to inform them of this or try to help out. Again, bad server issue, then.

procurement_services@vcu.edu if it’s accounts payable-related for the University, not the VCUHS. They can confirm what it’s from and whether or not it’s legitimate. When was your husband an employee?

I genuinely always enjoyed handing out candy before moving back to Richmond, but have yet to live in a neighborhood that doesn’t flock to Hanover (mom is in Lakeside though I doubt she’ll get many trick-or-treaters).

So, I guess I’ll stroll Hanover, too. Have three costumes planned for weekend festivities + Monday night. This is rare for me as I always rely on cat or witch.

So I didn’t go for 8 years (a LOT of dental PTSD as I had a dentist with hand tremors at one point - RIP, my parents passed down some awful dental genes, I have a major sweet tooth, and I had an aggressive ortho as well)…

Dr. Boland 10000%. He’s out by the Libbie Target. Doesn’t have a website. I caved, called, and the receptionist asked how long it had been, I decided not to lie, and she was so understanding. Then I went to my appointment and Dr. Boland tells you everything he’s going to do before he does it (no surprises!) and didn’t shame me or preach at me. I have some fillings to get done that I had to postpone when I got hit with two rounds of this nasty cold, but I’m not dreading it. That reminds me, I need to call about those tomorrow.
