I manage to see decent sunrises from my apartment, which I’m rarely awake for.

Day 2 at the new job and my mental health is abysmal, getting to ideation level (not because of work) but largely due to missing my late father, body image, and absolute internet idiots (it’s due time for social media deletion). Ugh.

This is giving me wanderlust!

Sadly I’ve never owned a passport. But domestically, Austin, TX was phenomenal.

As for my bucket list: tracing my roots in Ireland! Seems that the majority of my lineage traces to Donegal. Probably worth popping over to Glasgow for the Scottish ancestry too.

HBD to Oma!

What is your all-time favorite travel destination? And then what’s the top place on your bucket list?

I think it depends on the property managers and complex itself. I’m in a Main St Realty complex and have had absolutely no issues. Maintenance is timely and respectful (and some friendly hilarious guys), office staff is responsive, if something weird happens like nonstop fire alarms, they disclose what happened mechanically to cause the issue. I’ve asked maintenance to give me a heads up on filter changes, etc. as my cat gets spooked easily. Had a broken freezer that they worked through a series of repairs on, quietly, as I was WFH and in a meeting during the repair.

Though fully acknowledging everyone’s experience with property management is different - somehow I hit the jackpot.

Still giddy over being OP for the first time.

As for my own lunch, tbd. Eating oatmeal right now and I’m taking a late lunch for a hair appointment (I’ve had grays since I was 18… ugh), then back to the office! I’m an awfully picky eater with anxiety-induced stomach issues so I have a hard time meal prepping just to not be able to stomach anything the next day.

There are lots of dog bag dispensers/receptacles around SA. I know the one along the sidewalk to crunch has been overflowing for a while now. Ultimately if the dog owner chooses to live in a concrete neighborhood, it’s up to them to figure out how to still do their job as a pet owner and not half-ass the job.

Barely got any sleep last night, tossed and turned for hours. Still have no concrete plans tonight but I’m also not opposed to staying in and reading. Off to the gym soon, then attempting to get a small haul of groceries as I’m extremely low on funds.

One of the Sheetz brothers went to my college and not only did he do a talk with business students, we got to tour Sheetz HQ! Their kitchen is basically a full dry erase board and they can come up with the most random ideas and write them up for potential to be on the menu!

My family typically upholds the pork and sauerkraut tradition for new years (honestly we’re grasping at straws with German heritage as I’m mostly Irish).

Figuring out new years plans - I think I’d prefer something low key as I’m not feeling festive this year.

Where are you getting your labs done? My dad passed of a VERY rare cancer (primary peritoneal) and my mom was just diagnosed with cancer but we’re waiting to see how bad when they get the results back. I’ve tested negative for BRCA genes but I’d love to get more info!

The holiday travel hasn’t quite ended for me, headed to near Baltimore this morning to snag my mom’s car that broke down on Monday. Dreading this as I can’t take Dramamine beforehand since I’ll be driving one of the cars back.
