i drove past the bridgewater commons this afternoon and while the traffic was more or less light for the most part, there was a long line of cars exiting onto commons way to get to the mall. boxing day is not the day to ever go near a mall. great day for the supermarket tho.

the last time njt was mostly reliable was basically 2009. guess who happened to get elected that year and proceeded to slash and burn njt's budget to the bone in order to fuel his political ambitions by trying to make suburban nimbys happy.

sadly skimmers are a regular fact of life, especially on things like gas pumps. wawa has the ability to add your card to their app and pay for your gas that way, which is both safer and also they usually do discounts with it.

we are the state with the densest population per capita but most of us live in towns that were designed to be car first, which means walking to your job, the store, or to see your friends/family isn't really an option. plus while we have one of the best public transit systems in the country (which is an indictment of the state of public transit in and of itself), those services are designed to move you from the burbs to commercial centers in newark, new york, or philly. this is how you end up with the situation you have now.

actually, nj's elimination of old style traffic circles is nothing but a good thing. they were not designed for modern times. trust me, take a ride around the somerville circle and feel what it is to truly take your life in your hands when you're behind the wheel.

roundabouts make sense for roads where traffic counts are low enough that a traffic light makes no sense but high enough where a simple stop control doesn't move traffic well. that's where they need to be focused.

nj spent several decades eliminating nearly every traffic circle we had. yes a circle and a roundabout are different things, but the point still stands.

they're starting to make inroads again though.they make sense for the right intersection. i still maintain that the one they put in bound brook where main street meets queens bridge was ill advised but there was also not too many better options to put there given the space constraints with buildings and the train tracks.

you're not a real 287 commuter until you know how to get home from any exit that is between where you get on and where you get off. i used to commute from metropark back to bridgewater (so the parkway to exit 13) and you best believe i could navigate my way home from every exit that existed between the two, because you never know with 287 traffic. let's face it, the road was designed in a different time when there were a lot fewer people in this part of the state than there are today.

if you get the title back from the dealer with the signed section from mvc that the lien has been removed, you're all set. hold onto the title somewhere safe (safe deposit box, fireproof box) because you'll need it in case you sell the car or need to prove ownership.

if you're not sure, follow the instructions here to do a lien search. if they think there's still a lien on it, you need to follow the directions there to get the paperwork fixed.

dunno. epp has always worked out more or less well. only times it's been bad has been the first year i lived somewhere because they underestimate how much to charge every month but beyond that pretty much ended up even.

pseg def fucked up. all those estimated months is very very wrong. this is why even with auto pay you have to look at your bill every month and immediately call if you see something that doesn't look right.

also, everyone should be on equal payment with both their electric and gas suppliers. makes life a lot smoother if you're getting charged the same amount every month and lowers the shocks when things spike (you'll usually dip more than enough to make up the difference).

hoodbridge used to be the mall. even after menlo park was rebuilt in 1991, hoodbridge was the place to go. now it's basically on life support. it still looks like the 1980s in there. they've given up most of the space to d&b and the aquarium. it's a very different world for this mall these days.

my condo association requires the dryer vent cleaned every two years along with a chimney inspection. a good company will not charge you for services you don't need. we got our chimney inspection done this summer and the guy who did it did not try to sell us on needing a sweep (we had one last year from the same company) which i appreciated.

that was about what i expected from an nj1015 article. honestly, the mods should just ban any links from that site.

tolls suck but there's a reason that the turnpike and parkway are two of the best maintained roads in the state that have actually delivered real improvements in terms of adding lanes, exits, and other projects all without having to touch a dime of the money in the transportation trust fund.

pretty much any of the towns along the kill because it's very short as the crow flies, nevermind that there are toll bridges and the fact that it's staten fucking island standing in your way.

also used to happen all the time to me when i lived in carteret. always got a ton of staten island results because i could see staten island from where i lived. doesn't mean i wanted to pay all the tolls or frankly step foot on that cursed island.
