So the fact that America has been slipping in rankings for thinks like education, health, quality of life, and longevity for more than a decade now, while the countries in Europe with a more socialist bent, with economic policies that guarantee access to basic human necessities have been skyrocketing in every one of those measures means nothing to you?

No, you're right. Another economic system that guarantees your right to access things like mental health and healthcare services, with an emphasis on education spending, would absolutely make things worse.

Do you listen to yourself talk?

All of which stem directly from capitalism. Pricing people out of necessary services, keeping the population dumb and exploitable, and requiring people to work three jobs just to make ends meet are a direct result of a capitalist economic system.

Man, fuck the haters.

Your track record speaks for itself. You fucked up, took responsibility for it when called out, took your lumps, and made it right. I hope this doesn't discourage you from continuing to do what you do for the community.

Lindberg's has a hell of a show Saturday night. Molly Healey, Brandon Moore, and their daughter Annabelle are reuniting on stage. Molly plays with the Ozark Mountain Daredevils and has an impressive solo resume as well (more impressive than her OMD work imo), Brandon has literally a billion projects and people he plays with, Shotgun Brothers and Jalopy being probably the two most well known around here, and Annabelle is already teaching music.

Reservations wouldn't be required, though a heads up to the bar wouldn't be unappreciated, I would guess.

Hey look! A thoughtful, comprehensive response!

Again, I'm not trying to argue for this particular project. But when the same reasons get trotted out for the opposition to every single development project, often immediately after mourning the lack of mixed-use development, it gets old.

Not saying you did that here, it's just the majority of the arguments I see.

I'm not even particularly in favor of this project, but it feels like literally every proposal put forth is met with heaps of criticisms from this sub, from the Grant Ave parkway stuff to the unused space in Galloway to the National and Sunshine lots that aren't suitable in the slightest for housing anymore.

With the economic system we live in (which I'm not in favor of either, in the least) if a city isn't growing, it's dying. At the very least, I know I don't want to live in a dying city. But if all development stops, like it seems some here would prefer, that's where we'll be headed.

Edit: also, what negatives are you talking about? Increased congestion is about the only one I can think of, and even then Sunshine and Campbell is only really bad around 8am and 5 pm. The majority of the rest of the day it's fine.
