Reply to Pennsylvania lawmaker to introduce legislation repealing death penalty by Waterwebgrasshopper
I'm on board with this. Not because of a bleeding heart but cold pragmatism. Death sentences most commonly turn into life sentences anyway, but death requires so many more court appearances for appeals that use the limited resources the system has.

I lived there for like a decade during/after college. I never heard of Altoona Pizza, and I'd definitely call those my pizza eating years.

It would be an unmitigated disaster if my office (welfare) were allowed to strike and did so. Probably more of a mess than if police did.

As shitty as it is for the workers if that's the contract language, then that's how it is. I'm a union worker, and we are not allowed to strike per our contract which means if my office were going to act like we were; we would have to use vacation/break/outside of work hours to picket.

You don't need proof. Just apply, and report pregnancy on the application.
We are not allowed to require verification unless the information is "questionable". So, unless you have a history of welfare fraud or other reasons for the CAO to not believe you, you're good.

I assume they're toothless in that the law is not on your side, even though the worker probably wants it to be.

Yes, it very clearly is. I'd consider that well above the level of assault personally, since they used a weapon of sorts.

"All four suspects were arrested on charges of harassment by physical contact"
Not nearly strong enough of a charge. That's a summary offense. They'll get $300 fines for throwing animal urine on a person and vandalism. Littering has a higher penalty.

Counter offer them you'll work 32 hours a week for $16 an hour so you make the same money but work less. Maybe they'll see the problem with what they're asking.

Many of them already were able to waive the education requirement if you had applicable experience. Every requirement for jobs I see say degree in whatever or x years experience. With the obvious exceptions of Dr, nurse, geologist type of jobs.

There was like 5 hometown creameries (sic?) within a 20 minute drive when I was a kid. And that's only looking at ice cream. My hometown had "the" Crunch N Munch factory. It probably still does. If you can pass by that shit on a summer day when the wind carries that smell and not desperately need caramel corn and peanuts...we are a different kind of people.
