They are very strict about everyone needing ID regardless of how old you look. They ID’d my 70 year old parents. It’s policy and they stick to it. They also don’t suffer people that are shitfaced, they block people coming in that are stumbling, slurring their words, or are a touch aggressive, but that’s why I like that place. No judgement on you or the state you were in upon arrival, they possibly misjudged, but I generally appreciate their filter.

Agree with all of that. I think of my brother, who lives in CA and also grew up in Montco, and he regularly tells people in CA that he's from Philly. Not because he's trying to claim some 'status' as a Philadelphian, but because no Californian knows the surrounding county names or cares. However it'd be pretty cringe if he went around telling people here that he's from Philly.

Gotta be honest, I'm not sure what there is to get bent out of shape about. I grew up in Montco, but have been living in Philly for more years than I did Montco. Around here, I tell people exactly where I'm from, but if I'm talking to someone unfamiliar with the area I just say I'm from Philadelphia because it's easier and I assume no one cares enough for me to bother clarifying.

Rittenhouse area is nice during Christmas, but if you want to do something a little less typical head to East Passyunk and have dinner at Le Virtu, Laurel, Messina, Townsend or Irwin's and walk over 'the miracle on south 13th street' afterward to enjoy the lights (pack a road soda for the walk or grab one at the East Passyunk Bottle Shop).

Santucci's is consistently fantastic. It's not a super popular opinion I guess because it's not thin crust, there's nothing particularly 'cool' about it, I don't know if it's the 'best' but it's always great.
