Is Democracy Center still going? Every time I pass by that place it looks like no one is there anymore. They used to host Boston Hassle meetups.

Yeah - I remember reading that too. But this was back in September and it seems like ME is still going strong. Doesn't necessarily mean it will go on forever like that, of course...I'd hate for this city to lose another small venue. Losses are deep enough already as it is.

Super lame. I wish people with money invested into smaller/mid-sized venues instead of hotels and luxury apartments.
Alas...

No signs of ME shutting down...yet. Saw a bunch of shows there just last month.

That's what I heard few months ago - that a rich family was planning to build a hotel with stages to replace ME. So far nothing seem to came out of those plans.

Not a small dent at all - Jimmy Carter got cured of cancer when he was in his 90s, which is nothing short of a miracle. Unfortunately the type of treatment he had is prohibitively expensive for most people and isn't covered by insurance.

Hate to ruminate on good old days, but damn I want to go back to that time when Google wasn't the only game in town.

This?
"“I want you to realize that when I speak of a fact I do not mean a particular existing thing, such as Socrates or the rain or the sun. Socrates himself does not render any statement true or false. What I call a fact is the sort of thing that is expressed by a whole sentence, not by a single name like ‘Socrates.’ . . . We express a fact, for example, when we say that a certain thing has a certain property, or that it has a certain relation to another thing; but the thing which has the property or the relation is not what I call a ‘fact.”
