I get what you're saying but I think this is just kind of "The style" now. Minimalist, bright, airy, white brick/exposed beams and duct work with wood accents, tall ceilings - it's just kind of the go-to styling throughout the US now. It's an easy way to justify tacking on an easy 15% to your costs as well.

I loved and continue to love any bakery that looks like it's been there for generations with little attention to decor (that to me signals you give way more of a shit about the quality of your product than anything else because your mind is focused on the right things first and foremost. Shout out to Bellas off Wompanoag in Riverside. Got a meatball sando that'll rock your soul), but I'll also admit I enjoy the experience of sitting down with a cup of coffee and a pastry in a spot that doesn't dark or claustrophobic.

You just know that chow mien and dumpling order is gonna hit proper if it's right next door to the hood grocery store where they sell ham hocks right down the isle from the toilet paper.

If they're frozen and fried to order then yeah that's a rip off but if they're making them scratch in house, 2 bucks a piece ain't half bad.

Thank you for all the time you put into volunteering! It's greatly appreciated :) And as far as I know that rule still exists. I haven't seen anyone violate it in my experience, though I'm sure it does happen it's first thing in the mornings and is corrected early before I show up. Either way, the guys that hold the signs have only ever been cordial and easy going which I'm also grateful for!

To clear up any possible confusion - By poll workers, I mean the lovely folks inside the buildings doing the ID checks and handing out the polls and overseeing the voting machines. Not the guys outside holding the signs lol. They're fine I guess, but the guys inside are the important ones here.

200 years ago they would have simply been considered the town square idiot and cast aside as such, but now because of social media their insane thoughts and opinions are constantly being reinforced by thousands of other town square idiots every day on town square idiot forums across the globe day in and day out with absolutely zero sense of self awareness to be found.

edit: To be fair, this person almost certainly has some form or another of mental illness, and while I hope they somehow find some peace I also really, really hope they keep themselves and those around them safe by not doing silly things like storming the US capitol.
